The discography of Keiichi Okabe and the rando bards playing random shit in FF XIV. Damn do I recognize so much of it and I thus know for a fact that it ain't a part of the game's base code. That's legit people playing that instrument. Well, in a given definition of that instrument. Y'know, they're all basically playing a synthesizer.
Pretty sure Nobuo Uematsu made that a contract point. There's a "bard" class y'see. Bard had best have access to 12 notes at least with a given instrument and more is always better. He wanted to see how nutty the player base in an MMO could get if handed a scale or two to work with like he was when he started with the NES. Damned limited resources to work with then and a ton of pressure. But as anyone who knows how diamonds work you need that pressure to make them and make them he did by the metric fuckton.
Thus... he probably wanted to gift that experience to others. Y'know, give them a very limited toolset and see what they could accomplish. I can tell you it's quite a lot and I don't get a ton of chances to play and yet almost every time I do I hear something pleasing to the ear.

Chronic "grass is always greener" syndrome
Two days ago I came home to a swarm of these nasty giant ants all over my back door. The landscapers did a bunch of yardwork and I think they upset a nest underground or something and all these ants came in through a little hole in the doorframe which is a bit rotten (I have since patched it with spray foam). Anyways, it was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. I put on the DOOM BFG Division soundtrack and sent the demons back to hell
