His gesticulations and movement patterns seem very static. Beta ST?
Cute.
ETA: His partner is Maya Rudolph. She reminds me of an SEE I know--any ideas on her type?

LSI: “I still can’t figure out Pinterest.”
Me: “It’s just, like, idea boards.”
LSI: “I don’t have ideas.”
I had thought she was IEE. If PTA is beta ST then that'd be an unlikely combo though. Hmmmm...
Maybe if I stare really hard I could see XEI.
Isn't he an intuitive type. Or its only me?
He's not ISTj...I don't think anyways. Inconnu, I too believe he is an intuitive type.
Why do you say he's intuitive? The impression I get from him in his interviews is that his visual focus lies much more in directly perceivable reality; his eye contact with his interlocutor is very focused, not as if he's spaced out. Even when his eyes aren't looking at the person, there's always some sort of physical focus to them as if he's looking at something intentionally. Plus he has some little nuggets every now and then that give me the impression of how attuned to his surroundings he is. For example at around 6:39 in this interview where he's talking about the sound in one of his films:
Specifically where he's talking about the noise in the warehouse, and how inspired he gets just from the stray sounds around him: the nearby train, the birds, the factory down the road, etc. It all gives me the impression that he's physically conscious of what's going on around him, and his usage of these sources for inspiration has me thinking he places high value on these external events. Taking into account my aforementioned comment about his static-seeming gesticulations, this would have me thinking Se ego.
Plus on top of that he doesn't speak about these events from a personal perspective, nor does he express any personal internalizations of the things going on around him. This would lead me to believe non-F ego. I might be more inclined to say ISTj > ESTp because his overall energy comes off as a bit more contained than EP, but I'm open to it.
Interesting points...I have nothing to say about the intuitive thing other than it feels right to me, however, I like the points you made. I don't think he's ISTj though. They are, as a whole, more rigid than the vibe he gives off. I could see an interesting argument for ESTp though...
Seems Fe ego to me...he's very naturally expressive and has a feeling of "openness." Visually he reminds me of a softer Paul Walker, who is EIE; maybe IEI, SEI?
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
SEI was my first impression.
Hmm...I don't see SEI...IEI was an interesting suggestion. I too see Fe ego
Why not EIE? He is reserved, but likely not a true introvert.
EIE is entirely possible as well
VI-wise he matches ISTj better than ESTp. If you take a look at Beta photos here Anderson's expression is very similar to the expression of a woman in last photo in 1st LSI row and a few others from that collection. He seems sort of upbeat to me, but doesn't have that flexibility of EP temperament.
So/sx - he seems inclusive and flirty, and refers to himself as 'we' on occasion which afaik so-primaries tend to do. Quite likely he is either 4 or wing-4 by enneagram which would explain the heightened emotionality and expressiveness.
so LSI e4 or wing-4 so/sx
The 'rigid' LSIs tend to be either 1s or 6s. I believe this guy might be one of those rare ISTj e4s and so/sx gives him a kind of smiley, receptive but scattered presentation.
I'm not hearing any Fe-creative in his expression in those videos (usually you can pick up the creative function directly from what the person says).
What would Fe creative sound like? Directly from what a person says?
frequent use of actions verbs, describing own actions or those of other people, giving cause-effect, describing exact progression of events how one influenced another, etc.
it's the difference between static (LSI/SLE) and dynamic (SEI/IEI/EIE) types described here and from what he says he sounds like a static type
So/sx - that is not Socionics. What is it?
Enneagram instinct stacking. Read about 'em here:

Oh, I was wanting somebody to write me an elegent exposition - one as beautiful as a song. But no, I am sent to a web page.
<<<I was channelling BionicGerbil, he noticed.>>>
life is full of harsh and brutal realities like that sometimes
so/sx - http://theenneagram.blogspot.com/200...stackings.html
Ok, that one is more like the sweetness and light that I was wanting to read. I think that I am sx/sp the one man storm (note the "storm" in user name...) if not, I am the inverse, the sp/sx beautiful dreamer.

ISTj-Se would look something like this:
"The sensory subtype appears comparably restless in their behaviour and internally emotional when compared with the logical subtype. They are reticent yet also obstinate and willing to enter conflicts whenever their opinions are not honored; in such cases they flare up and become unduly sharp and absolute in their statements. Constrained and cold in demeanor, dislikes objections and long explanations. They constantly observe the actions of others in order to try to assist them or to point out their mistakes. Although their remarks may appear rather indignant, and lacking in tact, their intentions are usually constructive, as they wish to help"
With exception being given to the first sentence, I see none of this in him. He seems much more diplomatic, flexible, and amiable than this description. Seems like a perceiving-type to me, very laid back in demeanor. here's an interview about him talking about porn:

One of my favorite directors!
ESTp So/Sx not sure about his enneagram, I have a feeling he seems 4 but might be 8?
Clearly extraverted... EIE seems most likely, SXE or ILE also possible.
