I'm also pro-otter, but I couldn't tell whether that was an option.

Life is or at least should be a choice. I mean staying alive should be a choice and I think in the near future there's going to be more open debate about it and people probably going to decide whether they want to die by some painless injection or stay alive. Of course a whole team of professionals should be available to help such a person in deciding if it is really his or her true will to die or if it is just some temporary depression or some other mental disorder in which case the person should be able to live and love life as it is with psychotherapy and meds.
IMO though we're all sort of programmed to live, to mate and to have offspring this is just nature. One who can free himself from such Will which is basically biological will-to-live can become either a free being without desire and etc controlling him or herself anymore or someone who commits suicide because life seems meaningless.

Of course, when I say last resort I mean last resort. The person should be given treatment for an extended period of time and evaluated extensively before being allowed this option.
    exactly what I meant.

Oh, I didn't mean this as a "serious" poll/thread. I was mocking the loaded options in the aborted 'Abortion' thread poll.
