I generally argue in a way in which people can't tell I'm arguing. I ask them a lot of questions and ask them to reach a conclusion on their own based on the sum of their answers. If the issue involves another person, I paint a picture of that person's perspective of the situation and then continue with the aforementioned questions. I lead them to be the ones to build an argument against themselves. People generally don't become defensive unless it's a VERY sensitive subject for them. I don't mind upsetting people for the greater good, but I'm generally pretty good at avoiding that.
In a relationship I don't argue either... I don't do anything. The person I'm with will be able to tell that I'm unhappy, but I don't talk about it until I'm ready, if ever. Being ready means that I've regained control of my emotions.

Don't bitch, I'm genuinely curious.

What am I saying: it's a dj thing. I could not possibly associate your pathetic argument style with any type and I hope nobody here will. This goes to illustrate the empirical limits of this forum. If only people would finally get it...Originally Posted by Darkside

Don't mind me, I'm jaded. I'm in the pre-caps "YOU FUCKING MORON" stage.
Carry on, lovely people, carry on.

Depends who I'm arguing with.

Well, what about me for instance? You said that, "I'll change my mind about your type if you ever concede in an argument." Do you really view ISTPs this way? And why?Originally Posted by MysticSonic
I want to know where this perception of ISTPs being stubborn comes from, really.
I've never argued with myself and it's hard to look at this objectively. But I'd say I argue fiercely and with emotional arguments, and then give up when things get too involved. Once I've said my peace I don't feel any obligation to continue or get the last word.

Most ISTps ARE stubborn, hence I view it as a typical trait of their type.
However, that statement was more of a hyperbole than anything else.

I'm told I'm stubborn, but when I say I don't care and don't the other person is right, they seem to be even more irritated
I'm told by everyone I know in person that I'm stubborn and hard-headed.
Oh well.

It depends on who I'm talking to. I let NeFi determine what the other person is comfortable with. It also very much depends on how strongly I feel about the issue at hand.
