Sell him/her/it an Amway product so you both feel better.

I'm glad you brought that up, thanks korpsey! My team has 8 people right now, might sponsor a couple more people this weekend. And Amway grew to $10.5 billion in sales this past year, from $9.2 billion the year before. Things are looking quite good.

Edit: Oh, and did you see they started the sponsorship of the Detroit Red Wings in hockey? So now all the Red Wings players have 'Amway' on their jerseys. So they own them, along with the Orland Magic in basketball, in the Amway arena.

You've got a ways to go until you exceed the Moonies, but at least you've already got the Hare Krishas licked. Either way, total world enslavement just gets closer all the time.

What is success if you apply it to a forum like this? Do we need to grow? (Do we even want to?)

I like the post because I completely agree with it. I don't care if it's in capslock, bold, italics, french, spanish, german, italian, piglatin, if it's centered on the page, or has a wide left margin, or was written to my mother, to my dog, to my best friend, to my worst enemy, or to a new forum member. I agree with the post.

I think that for a Socionics forum, whenever we see these relationship questions, it never fails to bring the 'just like him for who he is, leave socionics out of it' but that is essentially why we all came here, no? To get a better understanding of our relationships and how to better get along with others ? If it's not, then I have to ask, why are you here? LOLZ Pirate I ain't picking on you cuz I do the same thing but then i'm like wait....it's kinda odd how that works out. It doesn't matter in the long run because even if you could predict exactly how someone would react to you, it doesn't guarantee a perfect relationship and it doesn't guarantee they won't leave you or you want to leave them or that there'll be amazing chemistry. You can't create chemistry, it's either there or it isn't and basically that's one of the main ingredients to a successful relationship. So basically what i'm trying to get at here, is that socionicz iz a lie.

I agree with this philosophy. I have no problem with anyone "liking" Pirate's post or even "disliking" mine. None of this is personal. Hell, I don't even mind thePirate's posts -- I kind of smiled at them because I knew they were coming, if not from him then from someone.

    Dear DearestIsobel,

I'm glad you weren't offended by Pirate's approach. It's just, for new people, I'd rather err on the side of caution. I've had people before thank me for sticking up for them, while others feel like they can do it themselves. It's great you're one of the latter, but I do feel the need to look out for new people, because I'd like to see this forum grow.

In socionics, I see Pirate's approach as possibly strong Fe, valuing saying what you feel, regardless whether people like it or not, Fi, and the squark agreeing with the principle as well, Ti.

Like I said, no worries. I'm glad you're ok with it.

I say the more the merrier. We're the largest socionics forum in the West, and could truly be a catalyst for socionics discussion to spread. If we want to.

Not for long though. I'm starting my own socionics forum. It is going to compete for souls with Tcaud's forum.

You are delusional, and also, your rationalization of my behavior is a vague grasp at straws - doesn't really correlate to those functions.

Caps lock doesn't actually mean I am yelling, btw.

It means I have caps lock on.

I see where you are coming from with this and its a good point. Pirate is just trying to keep her from catching the virus.

The issue, imo, is not whether or not Socionics has something good to offer, but rather whether or not the benefit is outweighed by the headspace it invariably occupies. Most people have a built in sense for compatibility, at least to some degree, so the relative value of Socionics is questionable. Therefore both sides have to be presented, which pirate was doing quite admirably imo.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...
