He helped to break the code for the Enigma machine in WWII, other than that, I don't know much about him other than that from fiction books + films (and wikipedia) . I think he might be an Alpha type - maybe xSFX > ESFj? which would be interesting:

His haircut sure makes him seem rational. Could he be EII?
He also was a very good runner.
It is easier for the eye of a camel to pass through a rich man than for a needle to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Hmm...yeah, that could work too...
mmh, why ESFj?
fwiw, i find him a fascinating man who lived a very interesting life.
6w5 sx
model Φ: -+0
sloan - rcuei
a code breaking computer nerd.
that alone already sounds like an xNTx to me.
but i've read to little about him to make a sound judgement.
I think ENTx
I thought Alpha SF because he seemed a gentle soul etc., but INFj does seem to fit better - I don't really know much about him though. You would think xNTX wouldn't you, for such a person - that's what I thought was interesting - that didn't seem to fit. He reminds me an athletic ESFj I once knew - he was kind + street smart, if not 'reading lots of books' smart, but INFj seems more likely to me at the mo (that doesn't mean much though ).
yeah having Te in him makes sense, i just read his wiki. algorithms seem to be something Te people enjoy.
SEE was my immediate impression.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
i thought in no particular order: he reminds me of reyn til runa (not anything about type);could he look a little INTp? Could an ENTj Ni subtype look like that? I see where Subterranean thinks he looks gentle.. that could be explained by an Ixxp temperament.
ESI?
I'm looking at his face and I see Te there. Lots and lots of Te. That jaw is square and enormous. My initial impression from his pictures is LSE, and one picture makes him look ILI, but in this picture he looks more LIE: https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NApvv43rB...600/Image6.jpg.
On the other hand, this quotation indicates low Ni:
“We can only see a short distance ahead, but we can see plenty there that needs to be done.”This is what Alan Turing, the pioneering mathematician, computer scientist, philosopher, code-breaker and icon of the 20th Century, said of the challenge of developing ‘machines that can think’ in his seminal paper ‘Computing Machinery and Intelligence’ in 1950.
Still, lots of high Te LIE's have lower Ni. Remember, he wasn't just interested in Ti theory. He was trying to build a computing machine. LIE's build things. In the real world.
*EDIT*The quotation above says his seminal paper in 1950 was "Computing Machinery and Intelligence", but he published a more important paper in 1936 called "ON COMPUTABLE NUMBERS, WITH AN APPLICATION TO THE ENTSCHEIDUNGS PROBLEM", http://www.cs.virginia.edu/~robins/T...Paper_1936.pdf

LSI maybe.. Reminds me of @Northstar.
I think some sort of Delta because my IEE cousin was really, really fond of him. I do think he clearly values Te, which would either be Gamma or Delta and he lacks the 'Gamma Bite' or Gamma Edge to me so Delta does fit the most. And he's the type of gay guy that you can put in a history book or some PC thing to get others to respect gay people. (Cuz they actually did something useful for the country instead of just being like 'I'm gay.' (Unlike me , but I don't give a shit) And unlike gay betas who usually lack that sort of respectability. I don't mind though, I would loathe anybody who tried to put me in an 'official' and Te-valuing history book probably.)
In Socionics, maybe he was something like ILE.
Otherwise, he's a bit of a mystery to me. I couldn't say he was an extrovert or an introvert although reading more about him might give a clearer picture. Could easily have been , , or -leading. I couldn't say whether he was more likely to be a logical or an ethical type: in Socionics, he'd probably be considered a logical type, although he doesn't seem to have been known for being a disagreeable person like a more detached ILI or LII might be.
Some notes:
- he was very into sports, and was a member of some clubs - arguably a sign of extroversion
- he dressed shabbily, had a casual appearance - a sign of irrationality
- was interested in a diverse range of subjects - a sign of intuition
- seemed to have quite a cheerful personality, was warm towards other people and interested in them - a sign of extroversion and/or ethics
- "But he was very gauche. He was embarrassed with himself. He dressed in a very unkempt manner. And he stammered quite heavily, which has been rather missed. He bit his nails too so I think he had issues." - probably more associated with introversion, intuition, ethics, irrationality (i.e. perhaps IEI most of all).
So I currently think ILE>IEI/ILI/IEE
