I've heard people debate about whether the moon landing actually occured or not. Personally, I don't care. Faking something like that seems like more work than actually doing it. What do you think?

lol I heard that REM song on the radio and it reminded me of it
I believe the landings were real. Here's a good website which debunks a lot of the evidence and ideas of those who believe the landings were a hoax:

While on the subject of sending people to the Moon, not too long ago I finished reading a biography of Sergei Korolev, one of the Soviet Union's rocketry pioneers and chief designer of the N-1 rocket meant to carry a person to the Moon. His personality sounded very ISTp, he loved airplanes from an early age, loved playing with machinery, and had a knack for designing record-breaking gliders. He liked solitude and could be hard to work with but always tried to get as many amenities as possible for his workers from the government which I think was his hidden agenda at work. He also liked dressing conservatively much to the chagrin of his primary competitor (definately an INTj) who looked down on him as both socially and professionally inferior. Here's a photo of Korolev, I think he looks very ISTp:

PROOF THAT IT MOVED.
Foreigners are more likely to claim that the American moon landing was faked, mainly because they hate to see America get the credit for it.
By the way, the fact that the flag is moving is not caused by wind. Like something like that is just going to stay flat if it is put into space.
Space is just like Socionics.
Russians do it better.
who cares? everyone knows the moon sucks.
asd
That is certainly the motivation of many of those foreigners who make that claim, but please note that most of the people who claim that, write books, websites, etc - are American. Also the guy who was hit by Buzz Aldrin.Originally Posted by rmcnew

Oh, my argument was only aimed at what McNew said about "foreigners" -- this Moon landing hoax bullshit has American origins. Personally I think it's ridiculous and embarassing.

I don't really care if we landed on the moon or not. Really, why care? Now, if they found a cure for cancer in a moon rock that's another story, or some form of life on the planet, maybe then I'd care...but really they walked on the moon...yay. It just gave a few hundred people in the world a way to prove their existence by saying they were part of it or writing books/publications of why we either did or didn't land there.

That isn't very logical at all Stefana. Why do you say that?

As for this topic, I can't really state whether the landing is fake or not because I never went there. Of course, if I had to choose between the two, I would say the landing was real, since the moon has been landed on several occasions and it would be folly to fake it that many times.

this one just because it's funny!
wouldn't nuking the moon cause major climate changes throughout the world?
well only if you like totally vaporized it. Otherwise you'd just send a bunch of rocks and shit up into space that would most likely end up raining down on us. Think 4th of July but one the whole world can enjoyOriginally Posted by Joy
what about the tides and whatnot?
so you piss off a few surfers. It's all for the greater good, just think... no more werewolves!
wouldn't the issue with the tides change the global climate and ecosystem?
what are you some kind of hippy?!?Originally Posted by Joy
It is not really a question of whether or not we landed on the moon but rather of whether or not the channels by which we recieve information are trustworthy and whether or not the persons recieving said information are clever enough to synthesize actual relational hierarchy between the snippets. I started this thread to see how many would say "Yes" as opposed to "I don't know. I wasn't there."
lol...wait, are you calling me a moron because I said i don't care if we landed on the moon or not?Originally Posted by Pedro-the-Lion
No, he was not stating that. He's simply stating that it is moronic to believe what each side is relaying to the public without investigating the source or the information itself. Of course, that was only my interpretation.Originally Posted by cracka

Scary that so many people are so out of touch with reality. But it's not surprising:Originally Posted by Joy

I think its harder work doing it than faking itOriginally Posted by Joy
faking it requires a lot of people keeping a lot of secrets
well, just one secret

Agreed. I cannot believe so many people believe its faked. Its just crazy.. I think they like to believe these rediculous conspiracies so their lives seem more interestingOriginally Posted by discojoe

I work at my school's library and I help students do research and stuff and you'd be surprised how many people want to find scholarly articles backing up the assumption that the moon landing was faked.
I've never found any.
