    Default Disney Movies and Characters

Goal: to find at least one type representative for each of the 16 types, usuing only characters from Disney animated films.

    Okay, go!

    ENTp--Maurice (Belle's father), Peter Pan
    ISFp--Balloo
    INTj--
    ESFj--Cinderella

    ESTp--Gaston, Tigger
    INFp--Ariel, Pooh
    ENFj--
    ISTj--Rabbit

    ESFp--
    INTp--
    ENTj--
    ISFj--Jasmine, Mulan

    ENFp--
    ISTp--The Beast
    ESTj--
    INFj--Belle

EDITED: I have added the characters above as the ones that most people seem to agree upon, or at least don't seem to disagree (I did take some liberties typing Beast as ISTp, even though people seem pretty split between ISTp and ESTj). But, please feel free to continue to debate.

    ISFp--Arielle
    ISFj--Cinderella, Snow White
    ESTp--Peter Pan, Gaston, Tigger
    INFp--Winnie the Pooh

    Cool, you're not wasting time!
I don't know if you can call him a 'disney' character, but what about the smoking Caterpillar from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland for ILI?

^ Maybe. The way he plays with Alice's head reminds me of how I deliberately beat around the bush. But he seems a little too rude.

Could be because of underdeveloped Fi. As ILI, I'm also not rude in general.

    ESE- Thomas O'Malley
EIE- Every villain fucking EVER (except Gaston).
    IEI- Ariel
    SLE- Gaston
    EII- Belle
    SLI- The Beast
    LSE- The Matchmker (Mulan)
    ESI- Mulan
What do these signs mean—, , etc.? Why cannot socionists use symbols Ne, Ni etc. as in MBTI? Just because they have somewhat different meaning. Socionics and MBTI, each in its own way, have slightly modified the original Jung's description of his 8 psychological types. For this reason, (Ne) is not exactly the same as Ne in MBTI.

Just one example: in MBTI, Se (extraverted sensing) is associated with life pleasures, excitement etc. By contrast, the socionic function (extraverted sensing) is first and foremost associated with control and expansion of personal space (which sometimes can manifest in excessive aagression, but often also manifests in a capability of managing lots of people and things).

For this reason, we consider comparison between MBTI types and socionic types by functions to be rather useless than useful.

    ENTp--Belle's Father
ISFp--Peter Pan? (Although he could just as easily be ILE, I suppose.)
    INTj--Rabbit(?), Cogsworth
    ESFj--Baloo, Lumiere

    ESTp--Gaston, Tigger(!)
    INFp--Ariel(?)
    ENFj--Ursula, Hades
    ISTj--Claude Frollo?

General Gamma-Captain Shang has a gamma vibe to me
    ESFp--Phoebus
    INTp--
    ENTj--
    ISFj--Jasmine? (I'm pretty sure she's an Se-valuer...)

    ENFp--Simba!
    ISTp--
    ESTj--
    INFj--Belle
Not a rule, just a trend.

IEI. Probably Fe subtype. Pretty sure I'm E4, sexual instinctual type, fairly confident that I'm a 3 wing now, so: IEI-Fe E4w3 sx/so. Considering 3w4 now, but pretty sure that 4 fits the best.

Oh boy, it's my chance to shine!

Disney is the most Delta thing. You cannot be Delta and dislike (the good) Disney films at the same time
Most Disney heroes have been ENFp E6s from what I can tell

Ne-ENFP: Mowgli, Robin Hood? (could be Fi, is too E7 to tell), Bianca, Quasimodo?
    Fi-ENFp: Simba!, Perdi, Todd, Ariel
    Fi-INFj: Belle, Serabi?
    Ne-INFj: Esmeralda?
    Te-ESTj: Mufasa, Bagheera, Beast
    Te-ISTp: Phoebus, Pongo, Bernard, Nala

Most villians have also been Beta extroverts
ENFj: Cruella DeVille, Ursula, Maleficent, Scar, Medusa (Rescuers), Claude Frolo
    ESTP: Gaston

What about Aladdin? I don't think Aladdin is ENFp...

I'm kinda pissed that all the villains are ENFj. But it's hard to argue. Basically all of the villains are ENFj. Except I really don't think Frollo is. I mean, I might be getting him confused with the Frollo from the book (who is as introverted as they come), but I suspect that even in the movie he's an introvert, not an extrovert. Still beta, imo. Possibly alpha in the book though.

Yeah I'm not sure if he is either. I haven't seen Aladdin in the longest time though so I can't say. Ne-ENXp at the least from what I remember, probably sp and E7.

I never read the book, but in the film he has the same sort of air that other (male) Disney ENFj villians have. There's that sort of well-spoken smoothness to the way he speaks that Scar and Maleficent share (assuming I remember Maleficent correctly).

It's a pretty delta movie as far as I'm concerned. Roger and Anita could be some sort of ESTj/INFj pairing too.

    ENTp-- Maurice, Lumiere
    ISFp-- Baloo
    INTj-- Cogsworth
    ESFj-- Cinderella

    ESTp-- Ursella, Gaston, Shan Yu
    INFp-- Lefou? (or SEI?)
    ENFj-- Shere Khan, Scar
    ISTj--

    ESFp-- Simba?
    INTp--
    ENTj-- Bagheera
ISFj-- Jiminy Cricket? (sort of kidding)

    ENFp--
Delta ST-- most Disney princes? (not counting Aladdin?)
    INFj--

maybe add more later, maybe not (not going to add them all, only the ones that really jumped out as possibly a type... so most common characters won't probably even get on here)

I liked Little Mermaid as a kid.

Ariel and the crab were funny together.

I feel like a little kid right now.

But you don't think she wouldn't be ENFp? Aren't INFps more aggressive and forceful. My childhood memories see her as peaceful, flighty, and an Fi romantic. But I don't know.

Edit: Wait, nevermind. Galen got it.

Alright, let's try this again: Your sweeping statement makes no sense. I hope it was a joke or hyperbole, not something to be taken seriously. If you are offended by the wording of my reply (which is rather poor, in retrospect), that is fine, and it is understandable, in light of other events here. You are certainly welcome to tell me that you are offended and why, but in a manner that actually addresses the problem. The above quote addressed nothing and seems to me like a very childish reaction ("You've offended me, so you can't be in my quadra").

I don't see how Baloo is ILE. His life is about "the bear/bare necessities (of life) and how a bear can rest at ease." When he's teaching Mowgli how to live "as a bear" it's all about the food, and the back scratching posts, and relaxing, etc. You could say "well of course, he's an animal" except the other characters don't work that way so much... the monkies find his way of life joke-worthy apparently (they serve King Louie who quests after power, not "bear necessities") and I think that Bagheera regards Baloo's Si focused way of life with something akin to distaste and seems to view him as someone whose company he must endure. Anyway with Baloo as ILE, I just keep thinking "what Ne???"... there's a lot of Si, but virtually no Ne.

(unless you meant a different character also named "Baloo" that I don't know about?)

He's being facetious. I feel like that was obvious...? And you just criticized him for being childish... in a thread about Disney movies...

IEI. Probably Fe subtype. Pretty sure I'm E4, sexual instinctual type, fairly confident that I'm a 3 wing now, so: IEI-Fe E4w3 sx/so. Considering 3w4 now, but pretty sure that 4 fits the best.

lol, of course it was a sweeping hyperbole. I don't expect all Deltas to love Disney Renaissance films, and I expect lots of people from all other types to identify with them. It's just that Disney tends to have a thematically Delta streak (Walt Disney was ENFp, so I'm sure he set some sort of precedent in that regard).

Also I was just joking when I said "get out"

Anyway with Baloo as ILE, I just keep thinking "what Ne???"... there's a lot of Si, but virtually no Ne.

(unless you meant a different character also named "Baloo" that I don't know about?)
Hmm, you may be right. I'm just going off of gut reactions to his character, but I guess ISFp could also work.

Peter Pan-- ENTp (I know I suggested ESTp before, but after watching the movie with my son this weekend, I am changing my mind)
Tinkerbell-- ISFj (female Aggressor style, in any case)

    Ok.

I see. There was no indication that you were joking, and I am under the impression that battletyping isn't uncommon around here.

    I could accept Pan as a caricature of ILE. He is extraordinarily infantile. He doesn't want to grow up. He doesn't seem to perceive women as sexual beings; he just wants a mother. He is also the embodiment of the dark side of innocence. He doesn't do heartless, "bad" things because he is malicious; he does them because it's funny or interesting, etc. With this being said, I have never seen the play nor read the book, so I'm going off what others have seen in them. And I just realized I'm going on about the non-Disney version. *facepalm* If that one matches what I described above, then I could see it. ^.^;

...but break my heart for I must hold my tongue.

I like a lot of your typings Poli. I personally think INTj Jafar is worth considering. I mean, he certainly seeks power, but I don't think power seeking is necessarily beta automatically. Alphas can be ambitious. I quite like ISTp Philoctetes, as well as SLE Timon (although I suspect that EIE would end up being a better typing). ESE Sultan is a definite yes in my book. I personally think the Genie is ESE as well.

I'm not sure I've observed any Gammas in Disney lol. The lackeys/sidekicks tend to just be Alphas from what I've seen: Genie, Timon, Pumbaa, etc.

Alice in Wonderland strikes me as a bit of an out-lier to me tbh. It just seems like a general Ne hodgepodge of uh, stuff. Any semblance of J functions seem to be replaced with more Ne lol.

Also I'm in total support of Rafiki being Ne-INFj.
