Well, socionics.com has typed J. K. Rowling, author of the ever-popular Harry Potter series, as an INTp. Now let's see what all of your preconceived notions were.

Binary or dichotomous systems, although regulated by a principle, are among the most artificial arrangements that have ever been invented. -- William Swainson, A Treatise on the Geography and Classification of Animals (1835)
I'm a huge fan of the Harry Potter series! Practically obsessed . . . is anyone else and have you ever given a though to their types?
Harry?
Ron?
Hermione?
Draco?
Snape?

Oh God...
Harry - ENFp
Ron - ESFp
Hermione - ENFj
Draco - ENTp
Snape - ISTj
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
Harry - If he's an E, then he's one of those Es who don't act E.
Beware! Nerd genes on the prowl.
INFj - The Holy CPU Saint
Dishonorary INFp

Harry: INTj
Ron: ISFp
Hermione: ENTp (Logical subtype)
Draco: don't know.
Snape: ISFj (Sensing subtype)
Dumbledore: ENFp.
Rowling herself is bossibly INFj.

Can't people have civil conversations without pointless comments like this? That goes for Sycophants comment up there, too.Originally Posted by gilligan87

I would say that Hermione is definitely an I - I was thinking INTj, too.
Dumbledore ENFp is interesting - I'll have to think more about the others. Ahhh, Harry Potter!

I think Hermione is an ESTj and Harry could be an INFj

Oooh, fun topic. I love Harry Potter.
Harry - INFj
Ron - ESFp
Hermione - INTp (hehe)
Draco - ESTp
Snape - ISTj
I agree with Ron ESFp, Draco ESTp, and Snape ISTj

Well I think Ron and Hermione are duals. Harry reminds me of my dad: quiet, but brave and with a strong sense of duty, and right and wrong. Both INFjs, imo (yeah a supervisor dad is hilarious).
When I saw the movie a few weeks ago I typed Harry as an INFj, Hermione as an xNTx, Ron's brothers as ESFps, and I was quite unsure about Ron, though he is definitely a feeler. I haven't read the books though, and I think anyone who has would know better than those who have not.
I would say hermoine is ENFj...classic over-acheiver.

I disagree. I think her acheiving has to do with Rowling's desire for her to be a classic "nerd" character, while at the same time being a good friend. She still has great intuition, very good critical reasoning ability, and is definitely introverted. She is also very wise, and is the balance to Ron's impulsiveness. If you took Sycophant, and subtracted the psychosis, took away all meanness, you'd have Hermione Granger.Originally Posted by gilligan87

Yeah, there's no way that girl isn't a thinker... she's extremely bright too, which adds to her impatience. INTp makes sense.
I'm not that crazy and mean. I don't know I've never watched any of the movies or read any of the books. I don't keep up with fads.
I dunno...I see Hermoine as a feeler, but that might be because of all the outbursts she has whenever there's an argument. Could this point to her having Se PoLR (uncomfortable with confrontation)/Si Hidden Agenda (wanting comfort, freedom from stress/conflict)?
I don't really see it behaviorally, but I can see Hermoine being an INFj. She definitely has the "mature" Delta persona, don't you think?
Hermoine and Ron are definitely balances for each other, but they quite clearly have conflictions on many levels. Ron often says things that he sees as quite harmless which end up hurting Hermoine, possibly pointing to a Thinking type. In addition, I see Ron suffering alot from not getting attention like Harry. Fe Hidden Agenda anyone? Could Ron be ExTp? Would it make sense, looking at their relationship, for Hermoine to be his supervisor? I don't see a whole lot of ENTp in Ron, but his relationships with others suggest it, to a degree.

Just to rock the boat - I'm not sure that Hermione is an INTP. She seems to have too much concern for rules, appears to be always ahead of her work, and does not seem to 'go with the flow', which seems to indicate some sort of J type. I agree that Harry Potter is an INFJ though.
EDIT: Hermione is also definitely the most conservative of the 3 - indicative of some sort of placement within Delta.
Gilligan, there is no reason why INTps can't be easily offended or prone to emotional outbursts. It's a matter of disposition. I see her using and . Also, there can easily be friction and conflict in a dual relationship, especially when both parties refuse to admit they like each other.
Fair point. I can see her using either form of intuition, but not so much .

Because of the simplicity of the normal human mind I interpret trends as things that should be avoided at all costs. Shallow? Perhaps. I don’t care. I’m quite often disappointed at the popular things I do look into.Originally Posted by ChibiKeba
