The Barnum or Forer effect is the tendency for people to judge that general, universally valid statements about personality are actually specific descriptions of their own personalities. A "universally valid" statement is one that is true of everyone—or, more likely, nearly everyone. It is not known why people tend to make such misjudgments, but the effect has been experimentally reproduced.

The psychologist Paul Meehl named this fallacy "the P.T. Barnum effect" because Barnum built his circus and dime museum on the principle of having something for everyone. It is also called "the Forer effect" after its discoverer, the psychologist Bertram R. Forer, who modestly dubbed it "the fallacy of personal validation".

I really liked the one on the left when I saw it. I'm indifferent to the one on the right, not really a good way to highlight the outfit tbh.

I would very much like to go back to a style like this. I do have this top and skirt, but for casual wear I would rather pair the top with one of my cigarette pants instead of the skirt. Though I would have trouble styling my hair since it’s still relatively short, and it’s not layered enough for a good wet set.
Socionics is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have, but I have it.
