    Default The ESI Glare

I've heard it's common for ESIs to have a harsh/evil stare.

Can common show me some examples of where that may apply (like based on subtypes and stuff)?

Do all ESIs have it, and is it a solid indicator for recognizing the type?

Also, does anyone know why they may act this way?

Are there other types that may have a similar look in their eyes?

I like it. It's not necessarily seeing you as disgusting...it's exciting and helps me in designing/strategy...it's like that hushed music in a movie moment when a gentle, easy-going character on screen sees something and gets a fixed eye and turns stalwart. I like when something matters to people.

I am dating from Match.com and I ran across a cute ESI and showed her picture to a male ILE. She was doing the "stare". The ILE said "That girl is evil."

Is it the same stare that cops always give you?

I don't usually make eye contact, but when I do my ESI glare, it usually discomforts SLE but EIE aren't discomforted by it (unfortunately).

I usually do it when someone is being extremely intrusive and acts like nothing in the world is wrong with their behavior, even if they're social or systematic norms (which included when they kept demanding to take a photo of me for the school yearbook; I never wanted to be a part of the group and I thought it was the demands that I have my picture taken in middle school were unethical sometimes). It's often like a complaint against procedures, which Ti-valuing types follow.

WSS benchmarks have him as SLE. I've wondered if he's LSI. Coincidentally that would make him your supervisee.

Probably because they're trying to enforce their will (maybe communicating that they aren't happy/as an intimidation tactic) into their external environment (Se) via the influence of (Fi) "this person right here...such a bi*ch, i will let them know through my death stare"

I don't think I do, but I can't share photos from Match without permission anyway. His opinion that she looked evil was just subjective. I thought she looked fine. I've seen some SEI's that I thought looked, not evil, but def like someone I wanted to avoid.

Just imagine an ILE looking at his Conflictor.

I love humans. That subjectivity, the mind protecting the conflictor but them assuming it's an objective observation. We humans are cute.

I'll try to pull you some pics of it. Also, yes...other types do something similar. I bet it's all just flavored by type: I and one ILI I know get a steely hard, emphatic, measured, recalcitrant (ungovernable) tone and a bit of a firmness of face if something's dangerous and someone is dishing out incompetence or cruelty...you know, where someone could die at work due to negligence at a hospital or someone with a knife is menacingly threatening the trans person on the bus, etc. I don't know why people are always almost dying around me, but they are.

ILEs often give me a stare that's really imposing looking or as if they're trying to look inside me instead of at me. Or they look "slick" like they're up to something.

Exactly like that, @TheDarkBlue. I like the fact that she’s giving the audience the finger.

    I love Gamma girls, too.

That stare isn’t intimidating. It just means that she already hates me, so things can only get better, right?

This is probably the kind of thing I should think three times about before saying, but when I see that expression, I want to chain her to a pole (so she can’t run away) and reveal myself to her gradually. I flatter myself to think that Eventually, she’ll come to like me.
Of course, in real life, chaining women to poles is frowned upon and men are expected to display some sophistication in this area, but the impulse is there.

I read on Gulenko's website that Jane Fonda's stare is the stereotypical ESI stare and that she is a very good example of an ESI. Under MBTI she is considered ENFJ tho e_e by many..

imo it comes across even when she talks.. the 1w2.. its like her voice is laced with judgment and condemnation... repulsive.

Much of wrong can be said about types by different noobs and heretics. Read normal types theory and think what follows from this.

A feeling of hate and anger is not Jung types related. Except F types may control own feelings and their expression better, and to express them more clear when want this.
Fi types care to be pleasant for others, to be emotionally comfort. So to express negative emotions is lesser than average common for them. If they don't like you - they become colder and prefer to reduce communications than to express negative emotions. If you strongly annoy them, then they may behave from Fe function in rude way on a short time - for base Fi it's least common among all types.
Also for Fe valued types the perception of Fi types may be affected by IR. Where they may interpret in worse way what happens objectively or how the same is perceived by people with better IR.

Look at my types examples with bloggers.

Not sure how common it is, but I have noticed it as well.

To me, ESIs are often 'adorably bitter' - I'm not sure how much they appreciate the 'adorably' part as it might be interjecting too much Fe into things or something but I have noticed that about them. There's that ESI villain from the Once upon a Time episode, 'the other shoe' who I really felt for. (although I guess she could also be EIE idk) It also seems to happen a lot during a PolR hit. It can be 'harsh' if they are just deep in thought about something, but can also be harsh + evil if their polr is being challenged.

I'm familiar with the look but I doubt that it's a glare; that word implies that ESIs are aiming at someone or something, which is often not the case. Usually, it's more an indication that they've gone into themselves (momentarily detached) to rationalize. They sort of freeze their senses in order to think. All Ijs have versions of this.

I think SEIs looks angrier than ESIs when they glare. ESIs just look kinda creepy with intensely staring.

ESI friend of mine does the glare a lot. The fact that she has large piercing eyes makes you feel like she's staring into your soul, seeing and judging all of your secrets lol When I brought it up once she just said she was thinking and didn't realize she was glaring.
