Default Fictional ESTp & INFp Dualities in Movies and Books

A nice fun example of estp infp duality:

the movie "Cars" from Walt Disney.

The Red car is an estp 3w2, the blue porsche is an infp (enfj possible but really really doubtful)

the red car is sexy (i probably mean the look on his face, the animation now a days makes the cartoons very expressionistic its cool)

The INFp never says too many "no" to the ESTp proposals,

wow...i never realized that....i hardly ever just flat out say no to him...if i dont want to do what he wants or whatever, i normally ease around it and say later or something.

This video is a nice illustration of ESXp - INXp duality or semi-duality.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a good ilustration of INxp/ESxp more INFp/ESTp though as I said in some other thread.

    Nah, he's INTp.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

yeah the movie isn't the most brilliant and Carrey annoys the hell out of me n general although he plays one of his best roles in that movie.

the guy = jaded INFp writer, got enough of the 'whole bs'
the girl = fUn-LoVin ESTp chick

yeah I can see a case for INTp buuuuut.. i'll stick to INFp

Aww hehe! =D I always thought maybe Grease demonstrated ESTp-INFp duality but I wasn't sure.
Seems to me though, that I see a lot of ESTp-INFp duality in media, possibly because ESTp and INFp in themselves as types epitomize the ideal of masculinity and feminity.

lol, no I do think there's some truth to it. There certainly is that dynamic in female INFp/male ESTp dual couples. However, this same dynamic is actually present in female INFj/male ESTj, male ISTp/female ENFp, female ISFj/male ENTj couples as well.

When the genders are switched, however, (ex. male INFp/female ESTp) I think we get something a little different. I still consider myself a pretty feminine guy in many ways, but not exactly "the epitomy of femininity." The female ESTps I've known tend to be masculine in very specific ways (sexual openess, a sort of "vulgarity", blunt sense of humor) but are far from the "epitomy of masculinity."

I was always fascinated with the ESTP/INFP duality though I wasn't sure what to call it except good girl/bad boy. ESTPs are not quite the epitome, I think ENTJs are...but they're like the 'bad boys'. My esfj friend was never interested as much as me, she'd be urging them to break up and I'd be like NO NO NO you must NOT no, what is wrong with you. And she'd be like he's an asshole! And i'm like no, you don't see it.

Oh please As long as you are going to try to recognize ESTps by making them adhere to the bad boy stereotype, you're going to miss at least half of them!

Anyways - I tend to be an asshole to ESFjs because their constant, nonsensical chatter tends to annoy me. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule.

What do you mean with ENTjs being the "epitome"?

Besides, I'm note sure if "good girl" accurately sums INFps up.

Wait... stop right there... your "future husband??" Woman don't tell me you've already gone and decided to let Socionics portend your love life! What?! You're going to let a bunch of Russian blowhards decide who you should date, and then marry?? You're just going to sit there and take it up the arse like that?????

Oh right, I guess the INFJs are the good ones, eh.
ENTJs are more...business/logical and aren't men associated with those two things in the old-fashioned sense?

Unfortunately though, if there's a type that is stereotypically a villain, that is definitely ESTp, with ISTj as close second.

Perhaps, but the true ENTjs aren't exactly the stereotypical image of what "old-fashioned men" are or should be like. Think of Bill Gates and Tony Blair.

True. Interesting that in MBTI it's usually the ISTP.

However, in terms of villains with power, there are also ENFjs.

The reality, though, is that Betas are more likely to be in positions of "visibly" doing evil if that is their inclination.

yeah really. there's always the infp who fucked her co-worker's husband and lied to everybody about it. i say: gives the impression of being nice, but morally bereft on the inside. (no offense against any infp's here, of course).

I actually know two male INFj - female ESTj couples, and one male INFp - female ESTp couple.

No celebrities that I can think of, though.

Two other ESTp women I've met seemed to prefer identicals or mirrors, though.
