Hello o/ That sounds like a cool job, what kind of factors do you have to balance to make a viable game? What do you think of the Munchkin series?

I do initial design work: my job is mostly about creating interesting thematics and making the mechanics of the game evoke the flavor. I actually go out of my way to create imbalance within the game to encourage new and unexplored gameplay. I hand the designs off to other people who are better players than I am to tightly balance the game. They do a lot of playtesting, I tend to just use my intuition.

Munchkin is pretty fun. I tend to like competitive 1v1 or team vs team strategy games, but it is hard not to enjoy games that focus on diplomacy and ganging up on your enemies.

Cool. Agreed that 'diplomacy' is hard to dislike. I've never played team vs team games much but they sound like a good breeding ground for the inefficient side of diplomacy.

Heroes of the Storm just came out, and it is totally free and one of the easiest games to learn. Definitely worth checking out for a first team game.

So...how about that game design? What do you think of stuff that ExtraCredits says? And of modern approach to games.

Wow, thank you so much for tuning me into this content creator! I actually have never watched their videos (am starting them as I type this response).

I think most areas of human life can be improved with intuitive designs, point systems and end-goals. People want to feel like they are in control of their actions and that their work is going to be paid off with something they care about. Games are a great system that capture those fundamentals.

Any suggestions for which videos to start with?

I really don't know. I either watch something that interests me or something new. You could also start from episode 1, but it's a LOOOONG series! A lot of good game design talk there.

You have significant focus on people. So may appear to be F type. I recommend you to make a video for typing thread.

That was a joke, and seems like a very strange tid-bit to use for type identification.

I am very sure of my type and sub-type.

Any of your words may be used for your typing.

    I've read your rights.

I am very sure of my type and sub-type.
I'm very sure there are many guys who think wrong about own type among those who are sure in it. Even if you'd have several years of typing and have checked your type by IR, there was a noticable probability of mistake as people generally type so badly that ALL today have match in typing <50%. That's why I don't trust others' versions, nevertheless how sure they are.

My Ni and Fe are in balance, and appropriately used, most of the time.

I will take this under consideration though.

We only parted, temporarily, because he wanted to fly by your house and keep you warm tonight.

    He will be back.

Welcome Cory. I do not have an in-depth response, but I did make sure to like all of your posts. I like chocolate.
Important to note! People who share "indentical" socionics TIMs won't necessarily appear to be very similar, since they have have different backgrounds, experiences, capabilities, genetics, as well as different types in other typological systems (enneagram, instinctual variants, etc.) all of which also have a sway on compatibility and identification. Thus, Socionics type "identicals" won't necessarily be identical i.e. highly similar to each other, and not all people of "dual" types will seem interesting, attractive and appealing to each other.

ILE not confirmed; possibly masked by strong Ti or factors not related to socionics.

    Slayers Doom:

He draws his sword of metal
The sound does strike great fear
    And not another sound alive
    Could the Dragon hear

He charges towards the mighty beast
    His mission glory be
He cares not what the consequence
But that he gets his fee

    The Dragon stands in self-defense
    His strength does muster all
But is too late for elder one
    The mighty Dragon falls

The knight believes his battle won
    The Dragon hath been slain
    But knight will never know
The honor of the Dragon's pain

The death does bring the money in
    His own coffer be filled
Now never shall his hunger strike
    He'll never feel the chill

But when death commeth to the knight
    Eternal torture waits
While dragon, up above does live
    Inside of heaven's gates."

I have a similar job as you have, although we use game techniques to improve the lives of call center agents (and exploit that happiness for profit) rather then for entertainment.

welcome, looking forward to see if we can learn from one other.

    ahoy
Posts I wrote in the past contain less nuance.
If you're in this forum to learn something, be careful. Lots of misplaced toxicity.

~an extraverted consciousness is unable to believe in invisible forces.
~a certain mysterious power that may prove terribly fascinating to the extraverted man, for it touches his unconscious.
