Generator by Foo Fighters always makes me happy, the rhythm at times is so , and the soft lyrics make me smile, it's like .

Actually, I recently thought of a highly speculative relationship between the four (classical) qualities of music and Alpha elements:

    • Harmony -
      • Harmony is the relationship between pitches that, although different, create the impression of a single, more complex sound.
      • Though it seems to happen at a "single" point in time, harmony is decidedly dynamic, as it deals with the relations of waves (which necessarily happen over time) to each other.
      • It is also an "external" relationship, because it deals with the perception of events happening concurrently, and related to one another.
    • Melody -
    • Rhythm -
    • Interest and Variety -

    Talking Heads
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Thanks...but it's speculative, and certainly incomplete. I actually think the harmony/melody distinction is a good metaphor for Si/Ni though.

But that's just a technicality isn't it? Harmony seems to be a static concept to me. I think melody is more Si, because it's definitely dynamic, and relies on the relations between tones for its effect.

this could be a lot of things, i think it is an introverted perceiving function though ESxj or ENTj.. i dont think it's passionate enough to be ENFj though). INTp maybe too.

    cool correlations.

(i'm stuck in suburbia, at home with 4 kids, wondering why i was such a misfit in thinking like this about things. thank god i'm not alone.)

my sis is a great singer. soprano, operetic. when we sing together, she sings melody, me harmony and i tap the beat. drums are my fav instrument.

my sis and hubby are like "just be in the moment and enjoy the song already." and i'm "but analyzing it is part of what i do when enjoying the song."

    love

    confusing

i think i am not used so much to hanging out with alpha sfs.

I find Kelis music to be ISFp and gwen stefani to be ISFp as well. a flurry of creativity, sensual impressions and expressiveness. I also felt ludacris to be ENTp. maybe im looking at the temperament energy.

more alpha NT: Talking heads i agree with gilly

i agree that i consider lots of looping or electronic sounds, especially with some playfulness in it to be Ne and depending on the liberties taken with the melody, Ti/Fe.

i agree with jrid. i think melody is more Fe because it's the changes in the tone that carry vibe. *shrug* i always associate Fe with a grainy/gritty sound too. as ive said many times before, Bono's voice to me has the quality of Fe. you can hear it in many other singers most often blues guys.

I always imagine myself fighting and endless army of little pixel beasts with nothing but courage and honor.

I think this is due to an over exposure of computer games during my youth though.

That and my lack of knowledge on how Ne can be found in music (or any function) makes that post pretty irrelevant. In fact, the only reason I posted it was because I love that song, that band and dammit that's what Alphas do.
