I used to think he was LIE, but now I'm thinking he's ILE. Why do people think he's EIE? Is it because he's expressive therefore he must be EIE?![]()

I'm not surprised that you say this and Kamangir disagrees, considering that this is a stereotype about ILEs that goes back to the early days of the forum. But I'm fairly sure there isn't really any socionic source that will back it up.
can lead to a kind of silliness, but one that is more detached, mental, and often even dry rather than "goofy". There is a big element of
in his humor and I probably wouldn't consider any sensing type.
LIE is a more reasonable suggestion. I'll have to revisit the Rose interview - he's definitely more serious, but I don't know about "dry". If he was LIE, I would also expect to see some flavor ofcome out in his humor.
Actually I agree with Traveler about EPs. They all have plenty of goofs, from Conon O'Brien (ILE) to Craig Ferguson (SEE), but even then it's not the same as Ne-doms who don't even seem like they're trying, who feel that natural and inherent. The reason I sayis because it's a very distinct kind of goofiness that is paired with a flightiness, that I relate with and to many
egos and could name many.
s make use of
, there are some slight goofs like SEI Mitch Hedberg, but you don't really see it so vividly but when done by IxEs. And of course I don't think you see as many silly people in any other type, esp. Ni/Se quadras.
Conan is actually my least favorite comedian on TV.
I could totally see Fi-POLR/Fe-HA for him. So yeah ILE works.

He seems rather IEE. His humor is Fi based and he moves around in an Si kinesthetic way.

He's LIE IMO, I'm pretty sure of this from watching his interview with Charlie Rose online a while back. His natural persona is quite dry and serious, and he's admitted that the character he displays on his show is just that
He also has this whole "self deprecating guy" routine on his show and I think it's his way of covering up the weak Fe to make it more comical"I've always been a really hardworker, I come across as this happy-go-lucky...I'm an extremely hard worker, and I'm very intense. And up until than everything that I achieved in life had been back-breakingly hard for me. I felt like it had taken a huge effort to get good greats and write a great paper and to do well, it had all been a lot of effort"

We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
