Yes, precisely. All of those would be Alpha-mood shows (and good ones, at that )Originally Posted by reyn_til_runa

Actually, South Park might be more Alpha/Beta.

I've always thought of South Park as Beta. Boy Meets World is probably Delta.
I don't see where it's been derailed, more like, porn was talked about on the side...Originally Posted by Logos

Which quadra would you identify with My Name is Earl?

Well The Office is an example of that, and it is definitely Alpha. Do you think that your shows should be included in the list?Originally Posted by hkkmr

My husband and I used to watch that all the time when we were first married! My brother and I used to watch Mystery Science Theater 3000 all the time too and laugh our heads off. I'm not alpha but I love that stuff.Originally Posted by posablethumb

I am now inclined to include Stardust, though it may be another Alpha/Delta movie.

This thread is for making arguments of that nature, so if you feel that some of these Alpha films are not Alpha, but Delta, you should probably make a case for it being the case.Originally Posted by hkkmr

hmmkr:
I think you're mistaking ENTp for Alpha.... Yes ENTp is an Alpha type but... perhaps if you included INTj, ISFp, and ESFj references the connection would be clearer.
vs .Cop 223 just got dumped by his girl.. so he decides to buy pineapples with the expiration date of may 1st for a month and eat them after may 1st...
Ah wait nevermind, it's difficult for me to get the gist of your posts immediately because we don't focus on the same things. Just cover for INTj and you'll be fine.

watched it just yesturday. not particularly an alpha theme, but has some air of alpha "coolness"
Okay, movies are not necessarily categorized into Quadras by characters, though they certainly play a part, but also by the message, atmosphere, and major themes of the movie, and of course there will be main characters from other quadras apart from that of the categorized quadra. But the point is that these characters of different stripes help to illustrate the central point or premise of the movie in a way which would be most entertaining for the particular Quadra watching the movie.Originally Posted by hkkmr

- Young Frankenstein
- Spaceballs

Citizen Kane
Fight Club
Blue Velvet (Perhaps not, the surrealism is hard to type)
All the pretty horses
Waking Life
9/11 Conspiracy Documentary (Shitty movie though)
LII
that is what i was getting at. if there is an inescapable appropriation that is required in the act of understanding, this brings into question the validity of socionics in describing what is real, and hence stubborn contradictions that continue to plague me.
The Big Lebowski is incredibly Alpha.Originally Posted by hkkmr

tbl has got to be some alpha thing or something i simply cannot understand. i have never understood the hype around it and it just strikes me as such a "dude" sort of movie somehow (no pun intended.) there's something within it that i just don't really get. minus the nihilists and the whole kraftwerk joke album cover. those parts = funny.

But Coen Bros. movies are all fabulous! (O Brother Where Art Thou was just on the other night) Haven't been disappointed by one yet. Raising Arizona is one of my faves!!Originally Posted by diamond8

I hope they didn't ruin that movie... the original was quite good. Did John Waters even have anything to do with this remake?
Have you watched the movie already?Originally Posted by Logos
The movie most likely belongs to a / quadra. The movie basically conveys Alpha attiudes: creating a positive mood, light-heartedness, having fun, coming together as a group to pursue their interest in dancing, giving less emphasis to academic work because it is boring and irrelevant to the protaganist Tracy's interest in performing etc. In fact, most of the characters belong to the Alpha quadra, with the antagonists been in the Gamma quadra.
I just saw "Movie Hero" and it was excellent. I would highly recommend it to all the alphas, and everyone else for that matter.
INTj
Here's a list of some of my favorites..... any of them Alpha?
The Lives of Others, The Shawshank Redemption, Donnie Darko, My Dinner with Andre, Half Nelson, Amelie, Saving Private Ryan, In the Bedroom, In America, Hotel Rwanda, Million Dollar Baby, Blow, English Patient, Good Will Hunting, Schindler's List, Fantasia, A Beautiful Mind, See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Braveheart
Wow.... I need some more light hearted movies as my favorites haha......
Suomea
well gee, I'd have to say.... The Blues Brothers!!! (the first one, the second one was a shit fest)
Male INTJ
Will Hunting is the archetypical, stereotypical Ti-ILE. Robin Williams' character is an Fi-EII. The girlfriend, Alpha SF, maybe Si-ESE?
I'd have to say that the most Alpha show that I have ever seen is probably FLCL. I remember first seeing it 6 years ago when I was 11. Absolutely nothing makes sense the first time you see it (and that is exactly the point). But despite that it remains one of my favorites to this day solely because of the vibe that I got from it the first time I saw it. Oh, and it does make sense eventually after watching it again and again and again, it's just that because of the way it presents itself it kind of forces you to watch it without thinking logically. I find it's easier to enjoy that way.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force is pretty alpha too.
Male INTJ
I really love Veronica Mars (the show that is) - I'm currently watching season 2 (haven't seen the first one yet ).
Agree.... with at least Will Hunting. Girlfriend most likely as well. Don't know about Williams' character but that's an interesting hypothesis.Originally Posted by Gilly

I'm still debating about Arrested Development's place in the Quadras.
