The end will arrive always “in the next few years.” He, of course, will be one of the survivors and is going be the teacher who shows the remnants of civilization how to live in the brave new world.

I'm reading the book now. He's known for his historical novels about Helsinki, Finland were I live. So it's interesting to read in a way, but I don't think I'd ever read him if I didn't live here. I can't help thinking that he is kindof mediocre. He has developed a technique for his stories, a certain realistic way of telling stories, but it often gets boring and he's over-emphasizing historical markers and nostalgia. Lot's of talk about time and places, maybe too much. A LII I know can't stand his books because they are so predictable and repetitive. But, if you live here there the book is worth reading I think. It makes you more aware of the local history.

Usually, writers of over-detailed history with long, boring stretches of facts and descriptions are SLI.
When I watch the video, I see lots and lots of Te, not Ti. I don’t see any Ni at all. He’s sitting in a fine old leather chair, surrounded by fine old respectable books, which seems very Si to me.
He doesn’t have the overly concrete assertiveness of an LSE.
I see lots of SLI and some IEE and a very little EII, but if I had to pick one type, I’d say that he’s SLI.

He's too psychological to be SLI imo. He is detailed, but EIEs can be detailed. There is drama, talent for story-telling, social awareness and nostalgia. Feeling is very obvious in his novels. I'm more open to Existential Ibuprofen's suggestion EIE. When I think of it, the way he tells stories feels extraverted.
