Lauren would have really liked this song.
(I don't really have a favorite song right now)
Peter's video reminds me of when he sang this song one time...before I heard the actually version...which surprisingly has a completely different feel to it...

According to my last.fm, it's Blacklisted's "Brightest Son":
Those traditions, those ambitions
They are yours, they are not mine
I don't have any visions
And I can't tell you my position
I'm not trying to reach the Sun
And I'm not shooting for the Moon
I guess I'm just my mother's son
I gotta do what I gotta do
This life you're living
Everything that you're giving
These are all things you choose to do
I'm not trying to be just anyone
I'm trying to put my life in tune
I guess I'm just my father's son
Willing to lose what I gotta lose

The future teaches you to be alone
The present to be afraid and cold
So if I can shoot rabbits
Then I can shoot fascists
Bullets for your brain today
But we'll forget it all again
Monuments put from pen to paper
Turns me into a gutless wonder
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Gravity keeps my head down
Or is it maybe shame
At being so young and being so vain
Holes in your head today
But I'm a pacifist
I've walked La Ramblas
But not with real intent
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Will be next
And on the street tonight an old man plays
With newspaper cuttings of his glory days
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Will be next

I don't like words much lately though. The whole goth sort of thing isn't my bag either. I just like the drums, and the guitar is cool too. Badass.
I will give them a listen

How do all of you come across some of the bands you have listed? I haven't heard some of them before, but they sound pretty awesome. The radio stations here usually play popular stuff so the range of songs I listen to are rather limited.
pandora.com is an online radio station site that is good for finding new music.
I've found most of my stuff through relentless searching, some on videogames I used to play (like the Brood song).
I rarely like radio stations.
PS: ratatat is okay.... but not really for me. Too typical I guess.

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
Would you hear my voice come thru the music,
Would you hold it near as it were your own?
Its a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken,
Perhaps theyre better left unsung.
I dont know, dont really care
Let there be songs to fill the air.
Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.
Reach out your hand if your cup be empty,
If your cup is full may it be again,
Let it be known there is a fountain,
That was not made by the hands of men.
There is a road, no simple highway,
Between the dawn and the dark of night,
And if you go no one may follow,
That path is for your steps alone.
Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.
But if you fall you fall alone,
If you should stand then whos to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home.
