i think she's gamma. her music is downright awful, it's only redeeming feature is the cast of studio musicians she employs. she's like eminem in that she's not a real person, musician, but simply lifestyle marketting.

I got the impression she wasn't really revealing anything. It was all an act, her "standard shallow TV interview script". Her personality was a sort of "frozen Fe" that didn't give away anything.

Oh god I hate to say this but she could be ENFp. She has a warm smile, but she's pretty shallow. I'm afraid we can be like that sometimes. I didn't watch the whole thing but I'm afraid to say she kind of reminds me of myself at that age. I went through this punkish phase where I like dyed my hair funny colors and what-not but it was all very ephemeral and superficial and not a serious punk thing, just like her. Kind of playing around with it but not seriously. Also, she talked about liking to relax and take it easy, but she could not stand still for the life of her. Dual-seeking Si.

Really? I think she seems almost afraid of the emotional atmosphere present. Timid. Like her displays of enthusiasm, excitement, tranquility and the like are random, spawned out of insecurity. For example, for somebody in her position I'd say a Fe ego type would be "playing" with the host, engaging them, cracking jokes, would know exactly how to stress their words and what words to use to have the necessary affect on the listener, body movements and the like would fit the situation, the general atmosphere of the conversation would "flow", you would in general be able to perceive and feel an atmosphere present and the persons control over it. She is a far cry from this. And she keeps coming back to describing her experiences, how she experiences things, what actually happened. In general she uses words to describe reality, what actually is, what actually happened, or her sentiments, and not to have an affect on the listener, on people listening, and all of her "Fe usage" seems like a byproduct of this to me. I think she has a preference for and finds safety in Te and Fi.

Maybe you're giving me too much credit.
The thing is, to my eyes, she seems to reveal too little of herself. To me she seems to be either (1) a total bimbo or (2) someone who's very intelligent but also very keen to hide her true self in public situations.
From her life, and her success, I'm inclined to accept as obvious when she says that she's always loved performing (duh). That's an indication of strong Fe - not necessarily of Fe quadra, I think Britney Spears is SEE for instance. But Lavigne does not strike me as Se-dominant or even as particularly strong in Se. Her whole focus, her whole appeal (to those who find her appealing) is how she presents herself, her personality, which to me suggests EIE.
I'm inclined to think - believe it or not - that she's actually very intelligent and is indeed hiding her true self in those interviews, and always acting. That's what the Beta NFs here are spotting in a "who do you think you're fooling?" way, and that's what they don't like.

True. But it seems very over the top and excessive in her case. If she'd just slow down, relax, stfu and drop the BS she'd be tolerable.
