Why does anyone like Dostoevsky?

Really, why does anyone like Dostoevsky? Maybe I need to read more Dostoevsky, but there are a lot of other things I could be reading instead of Dostoevsky. There's a reason lots of people like to run around with big Orthodox crosses and say "I am a neehilist!" because even if Dostoevsky just thought he was being religious, he was tearing down everything. He tore down not just the socialists but Catholics and Protestants. OK, it's fine to disagree with other religions, but your alternative is to go to jail and then write a book about a guy who goes to jail. Even the Bible doesn't focus on guilt like that. So, why should I read Dostoevsky instead of basically anything else? Even Ayn Rand would probably be a better use of my time than Dostoevsky, at least Ayn Rand had a vision of how she wanted the world to be and how she thought it worked, Dostoevsky just writes about basically sociopaths doing sociopath things and then saying sorry.

I haven't read any of that gay homo shit. I've once listened to radio reading of that gay story about how a dude killed somebody and thought that he was cursed for suffering (omg, drama!) because he killed somebody and that will haunt him for the rest of his life until he's dead. Was the book called "Idiot", I don't know... I mean, if you chose to do something and now you're suffering... Like, are you human being, you know... If you kill somebody then be a man. If you don't wanna kill somebody then don't. Just don't be fucking all feelings about it. I mean, even the French are less frog-eating. Is that a good book? A book about a weakling. I mean, at least the boys in the front had some fun with the hookers, right right? At least Eugène was kinda hot and spent his days in nice apartments...
