Default Do you make your own luck?

What is luck? Is good fortune truly random, or is it the result of some subconscious but scientifically explicable perspicacity that informs your actions, or is it just the result of preparation, or is it something else altogether?

Do you make your own luck?

Rationally, in the sense to do intentional actions which arise the possibility of a wished result - yes.

There is also esoterical approach which deals with probabilities more directly - by imagination methods. Those may work by unconscious processes. And exist a chance of dealing by this approach with additional dimensions of the same reality variants (if time is not a single dimension).

But as there is nothing to prove the existence of free will at people, so all this can be a part of same game. In this case, the only what exists is a luck or totally predifined events.

If it's not random then it isn't actually luck anymore.

Counterpoint: everything is deterministic but luck still exists as what we don't have information about. That's why the Romans said that fortune favors the bold, or the virtuous. Following general rules when you don't know exactly what to do is generally better than moping.

The Word of the Day is definitely perspicacity.
