I see this basically as logic with Ni. It's more typical of Beta STs than Gamma NTs but both can insist on doing things in a certain way. The thing is with Te it's somewhat more open to revision based on new information (or yes, doing things in a satisficing way, rather than meeting some standard), rather than TiNi which does it a certain way according to principle.

Doing things "the right way" without a deeper understanding of purpose of the principles will get you in trouble.

This deeper understanding requires some sort of trial and error/study to attain, speaking to more experienced people can help speed this process up.

Depending on the domain you're operating in, there can be no right way but many wrong ways of doing things.

The measure of success is the result and not the process to get to the result.

It can be difficult to determine the nature of a result in some domains of action (whether or not successful).

Often culturally established ways of doing things can deviate from the core principles.

Some practices have no right or wrong ways of doing anything because the practice itself is pointless.
