    Default Hypocrisy of Porn Use?

It's common knowledge that lots of people (if not most) would flat-out refuse to marry a porn star. Are these people hypocrites if they also watch and enjoy porn?

I was recently outraged to find out that there are places that distribute pornographic content for FREE. That's right - there are people who rip off the artist and who refuse to pay. They would not do this in other areas of life so why engage in such piracy?

My wife believes in monogamy so I respect her wishes although I find it difficult to turn down offers of marriage generally. But you should be wary of marriages because divorces can be expensive and may give an illusion of security. Also, should life really mean life?

I don't care to dig into whether it's hypocrital or not - people marry whoever they want, and watch porn if they want (as long as it depicts consenting adults etc).

    ^ this

fantasies and reality don't match 100%, people watch porn to get a jerk off and imagine some crazy scenario theyd never be into in reality, but they want to marry someone they love and can trust

Everyone knows that the whole notion of marriage is highly unrealistic and yet NOBODY will speak a word against it.

In olden times, a till death do us part marriage would usually last less than 20 years. The story of long and happy matrimony is pure fantasy. The youth should be better educated and be warned that depictions of blissful spouses are not true to life.

I follow politics but I would not marry a politician. I believe that most politicians are So-first and that’s not a good match for me.

Porn actresses, on the other hand, seem to be Sx-first, and that’s a lot more appealing to me. But two Sx-firsts make for a fairly combustible combination.

My Sx/So probably needs an Sp/Sx.

I don't think it's that hypocritical at all as long as the person doesn't get too smug or uppity about it. And understand it's about their own personal morality and doesn't get Unhealthy Enneagram 1 with everybody about it.

I'll try to logically explain why I don't think it's that hypocritical.

I think with a lot of people- you know energetically even, let's say person A goes to have have sex with person B - and then they go fuck person C, the person C has now in a way both energetically and physically has had sex with both persons A and B. (Especially you know if STDs were passed down between the people and who knows what else DNA/genetic material?)

It's kinda a basic bitch-y thing they teach u in Sex ED class but it's true. And obviously real porn stars are passing down their energy a lot to people- no matter how much the FBi is watching to see that they are behaving and how "clean" or "professional" they're making it. The energy exchange is still going on. Spiritual/emotional energy as well as the spit, cum whatever lol.

In a Fi-ish way this can be incredibly repulsive to some people especially if they are more strictly monogamous than some other folks. They will only be turned on and like it if their ethics match their pleasure and person B is only exclusively with person A.

Just jacking off to porn privately as a fantasy is a lot different then meeting somebody up for the physical 'real' thing so the chain of energy isn't being passed down that way - only as some narcissistic fantasy fulfillment. Obviously the consequences are different. Not necessarily bad/worse/better just - different. Though too much porn viewing is probably not healthy, that doesn't make porn in and of itself 'immoral' because you could say the same thing about anything. Moderation and discipline is the key with anything worldly and "sinful." "Please gamble responsibly" , "Please drink responsibly" etc. Obviously there is a limit to this ie: "Please go out and kill 10 people responsibly" lol but I mean everybody is in a way trying to make friends with the angel and devil on their shoulders.

I used to be much more moralistic than I am now. But time and experience have made me more flexible and understanding than I once was.

After finding myself in situations from which I once would have recoiled, I now have more tolerance for others in those situations.

I still draw the line at physical and emotional harm. But the morality that I was taught as a child is kind of out the window.

When I was a wee lad, my ESI grandmother warned me to never lick knives because I would cut my tongue. I remember thinking, “Come on. Silverware knives can barely cut anything.” And a knife with icing on it was well worth any small risk.

As it turned out, years later I did cut my tongue while licking a newly sharpened carving knife, but that was once in a lifetime.

So while I might not marry a porn star and keep her around forever, I can’t say I’d refuse sex with one if other things aligned.

Not really because porn is very detached from love. That said I don't watch porn, and I likely wouldn't marry anyone who's involved in or has been involved in it.
