    Why yellow for me?
    -
    Dual type (as per tcaudilllg)
    Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?

    I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

    Te/Ti - grey
    Fe/Fi - dark red
    Se/Si - bright red
    Ne/Ni - faded green/blue

    these are my synesthetic associations. (Fe/Fi should be black, but for some strange reason, it isn't.)

    I am going to use the chart at the color meanings link to give my associations with quadras since it fits my perception pretty well. Doing the function colors is too specific for me, to focus on, at the moment.

    Disclaimer: Totally biased

    Alpha:

    Orange combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. It is associated with joy, sunshine, and the tropics. Orange represents enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, encouragement, and stimulation.

    Yellow is the color of sunshine. It's associated with joy, happiness, intellect, and energy.
    Beta:

    Red is the color of fire and blood, so it is associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love.

    Purple combines the stability of blue and the energy of red. Purple is associated with royalty. It symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, and ambition. It conveys wealth and extravagance. Purple is associated with wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, and magic.
    Gamma:

    White is associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity. It is considered to be the color of perfection.

    Black is associated with power, elegance, formality, death, evil, and mystery.
    Delta:

    Green is the color of nature. It symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility. Green has strong emotional correspondence with safety. Dark green is also commonly associated with money.

    Blue is the color of the sky and sea. It is often associated with depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven.

    My perception of gamma being more black and white than the other quadras so it was more symbolic. It could be because of my close relationships with men (starting with my stepdad) of that quadra. I probably looked up to them too much yet felt their thinking was too black and white to see my worth sometimes. My own inferiority complex since I was told I was just being too sensitive by them.

    Te = black
    Fi = white.

    I am better with gamma Fi and Te than delta for some reason and it probably has something to do with conditioning.

    After reading about the psychology of colours...

    Se = red, the colour of action
    Ne = yellow, the colour of potential and opportunity
    Te = navy, the colour of business
    EIE = violet, the colour of the Bard
    ESE = orange, the colour of warmth
    Ni = indigo, the color of meditation, introspection
    Si = green, the colour of nature
    Fi = light blue, the colour of peace
    Ti = black, the colour of death and order

    (This mixes in my own perceptions, but if it was based on my own perception, Ti would probably be black and white, Te would be black, Si would be several colours including green, blue, white, pink, ESI and EII would possibly have different colours, with maybe some form of pink or magenta for EII. I have envisioned ESE being some form of blue also - perhaps a "light blue" or a sky blue (which I might associate with Ne also). I have no idea what brown might be.

    added colors because It takes too much effort to visualize/compare/contrast the colors otherwise

    Si = Light orange to brown
    Se= Brown to Dark Red

    Ne= Yellow to Light Green
    Ni = Dark Green

    Fe= Orange to Red
    Fi= Violet

    Ti= Dark Blue to Black
    Te= idk, dark brown to black? I have a difficult time trying to come up with a color for Te. o-O

    ...so if it were put on a spectrum...

    |Se|-|Si|
    |Fe-----Fe|
    ____________|Ne---------------Ne|_____|Ni|
    _______________________________________|Ti|
    _____________________________________________|Fi|
    |Te|

    I heard an ESE one time say that she liked yellow because it's a "happy" color.

    There is already a consensus about the black and white ones, if we each went our own direction and came up with our own colors, it would be confusing. It's like not agreeing to the meaning of a given word.

    But I guess this thread was not meant to be taken too seriosuly.

    EII: Christian Heterosexual Female White (think like a subtle, subtletly-transparent kind of pale-ish but ultra 'good' white)
    SLI: Steel slint pole gray
    IEE: Medium-dark plum purple. Male IEEs are Medium-dark blueberry.

    ILI: Rotting Pear Orange
    LIE: Black. Just straight pure boring black. Jesus LIE.
    SEE: Ocean teal preppy peach.
    ESI: Dark midnight blue

    (will do the Fe/Ti quadras later lol)
