I would say rather that Arthur is LSI and John SLI.
I get the impression that Arthur is definitely more confrontational, aggressive and less conciliatory than John. Which would indicate a valued Se. John, in turn, seems to be more laid back (Si ??). Rather, he ignores verbal taunts or even makes them a joke of them. And Arthur always responds to provocation, he also often provokes others. What looks like a show of strength at every turn (Se). I think that if John was LSI he would rather impose his son's lifestyle and so on would try to adapt it to his model (Ti). But he is rather a loose parent and and lets him live his own way.
So it reminds me more of SLI. And the fact that John is adapted to the gang structure does must not mean that it is Ti. This can be due to the usual habit. And ultimately he break principles.
