    Everyone and their mom has a different explanation.

    1. IIRC, Aurelius popularized the Sol Invictus cult around the time we begin to get records of Christmas being celebrated. Given that Christianity was an older religion, there’s just as much grounds to think the holiday was stolen from the Christians.

    2. Even if this cult did have a holiday on December 25th, there’s still no indication that it had anything to do with Christmas.

    3. Even if other religions had similar myths as Christianity, that doesn’t indicate anything about Christmas, and

    4. Christmas is about Jesus’ birth, not his resurrection.

    The suggestion [citation needed] is that Christians readily adopted the 25th as Jesus' birthday because there are clear parallels between the Sun and Jesus.
