Is Heidegger Contaminated by Nazism?

I guess having astoundingly dumb ideas about politics like Heidegger is what happens when you're locked up in an actual ivory tower too long. I mean he wanted to co-opt Nazism for himself and redefine it rather than vice versa. He still got along with many Jews as he did this because of how odd he was.
