Hot take: Intelligence is more or less equal among types upon birth. However, intelligence is fluid (neuroplasticity ftw). People (and therefore types) prone to challenging themselves with stuff that trains their brain, end up becoming smarter and smarter over time.

I had a few years in my life during which I was challenging myself intellectually, and I honestly felt like I became more mentally "nimble". Then, I had a few years where I was rotting my brain playing video games and also doing lots of exercise (apparently unrelated), and I honestly feel like I got dumber during that time. I joked about turning into a jock but it was really happening. On the bright side, I picked up my habit of exercising during this time and trained my willpower a lot. Then, I went back to intellectually challenging myself. I feel my wits coming back and also my physical prowess deteriorating somewhat. However, my will feels stronger than ever.

My conclusion is that we draw energy from the same "pool" of energy, in other words, there's no such thing as "mental" energy or "physical" energy. Both drain you and the more you train one, the less energy you have left for the other one.
The more you drain your energy, and the more regularly you drain yourself to the point of exhaustion, the more your energy "pool" grows.
