The Barnum or Forer effect is the tendency for people to judge that general, universally valid statements about personality are actually specific descriptions of their own personalities. A "universally valid" statement is one that is true of everyone—or, more likely, nearly everyone. It is not known why people tend to make such misjudgments, but the effect has been experimentally reproduced.
The psychologist Paul Meehl named this fallacy "the P.T. Barnum effect" because Barnum built his circus and dime museum on the principle of having something for everyone. It is also called "the Forer effect" after its discoverer, the psychologist Bertram R. Forer, who modestly dubbed it "the fallacy of personal validation".

over and over, makes me feel like a powerful dancer. I used to associate this song with Alan Sugar/ the Apprentice tv show (ew) but I've been watching Spinning Out and the two lead characters pair skate to this song, it's very dramatic but beautiful.
Not often, but sometimes I need this.
This should actually be in the Confessions! thread.
Ha that's random.... We used to do ice skating to music when we was younger as well ...... maybe that's just a thing???! they just played whatever dance-ish type of music was popular...was a lot of fun
It's crazy how good that gif goes with the song though.... you can definitely bop to it
@rtht I think it's something I might like to do again one day...but with someone who is good so they can hold my hand so I don't fall..!
@rtht they probs just didn't play it LOUD enough
No idea what the words are, but this song inspires passion and artistic outlet fuel for me. It's been quite a while since I've felt enough emotional depth for that creative juice, so...it's kind of nice, I guess.
