Songs That Ruin Your Day
... because they get stuck in your head and no matter what you do, it will haunt you. The resistance is futile types of songs.
Like this one.
This is the hardest "try not to sing and fangirl challenge"... everrrr
I hate Britney, she owns me
Oh god no. I can flawlessly rap and sing the lyrics if you wake me up at 3:40 AM
Once I heard them sing "I'm the biggest hit", it was over. IT WAS OVER. That bizarre beat does not help. It's too catchy.

Subthigh
They say that the best way to get rid of an earworm is to play it...don't know if that would actually work for me.

@Subteigh It doesn't work. They say it's best to listen to the end because that's meant to prevent the brain from trying to complete the song but ime this just starts another reply so there we go

I really love this song but all I have to do is see the title somewhere and it's stuck in my head for a week

I also have this memory of it when I was walking somewhere with my kid like a year ago and it was stuck in my head and I was singing it. And waiting for him to complain and be like "ugh MOM" and he didn't. So now when I hear it I associate it with my love for him and the wistful feeling, you know, like when he was little he never would have complained about me singing and now he's older, and soon he'll be out of the house, but...that night he didn't complain.
So it doesn't actually ruin my day but yeah

catch that
the obsessive melody may be removed from the head by intentionally changing it - play speed, the tone, arrangement, etc.

Nothing cuz i score -1000 on neuroticism

Subteigh already beat me to it with the Kylie one, but also this one will suddenly pop up in my head from time to time (like the other day when I was going to Subway it played in my head):
I don't even particularly like it. I don't dislike it either. It's just there, and was super popular many years ago.

btw I love Katy Perry's California girls lol it's a guilty pleasure of mine because when I was about 17-18 I was close friends online with three girls from California (two of which I even met irl haha) <3 And we always danced stupidly to the song.
I sheepishly admit that I like a lot of her songs idk, like the Firework one I relate to a lot. Come on shy fat girl, have self-esteem and jump in the pool!! I believe in u:
