Elon Musk has the problem that almost all people in his position face. he's surrounded by yes-man engineers who cream their pants every time they hear something positive from their idol. nobody is really challenging his ridiculous ideas and considering the overwhelming praise he gets on a daily basis for how "genius" his mediocre ideas are, he likely developed narcissistic tendencies.
