I read a good argument for him being LIE which I need to go look up again. Even though a lot of his policy decisions and goals make him look like an ethical type, on a personal level, he apparently is demanding and not very personable; he also seems to stay perpetually busy.
bump, his type is a mystery to me

Dual type (as per tcaudilllg)
Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?
I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

now with pictures and new interviews I realize I didn't upload a video that really featured him when I made this thread

ISFP(?)
Strong moral compass, integrity, altruism, clarity, consistency. I like him a lot.
I initially thought LII, but his political rhetoric is heavily autocratic, so maybe LSE would be an option, too.

I don't see Bernie as an extrovert. Yes he "extroverts", but he's obviously somewhat uncomfortable with it. He's found a way around it, however, and that is part of what leads him to repeating his talking points over and over and over, with little change in them. He has a difficult time adapting his talking points to changes an interviewer/audience brings.
However, he also has a quick mind otherwise, and a sense of humor. He catches on fairly quickly to word/scenario jokes others are making, and plays along. Instead of taking the info at hand, he considers what else is influencing a situation, what led up to a situation, where different actions might lead to, etc. It seems to me that this last part is where he excels and feels most comfortable. I tentatively type him as ILI with a strong Fi agenda.
One of the things I find interesting is that he'd have grown up with the religious idea that it's our job to CREATE heaven on earth (rather than seeing heaven as something otherworldly or supernatural). I'm fairly sure his Fi agenda is based off of that fundamental belief, and is a major part of his life principles that led him to fighting for civil rights way back when, and from such a young age.
I don't think he'd ever desired to be a leader/director of others. I see him more as a behind-the-scenes critiquer. I do think he made this sacrifice, however, as a last ditch effort (before he dies) to effect some changes in our political system. I think his whole political career has stemmed from the moral obligation to help create heaven.

I thought either LSI or LII.
I'm pretty sure he is LII. He reminds me a lot of Robespierre.
I'm not a native English speaker. I apologise for any grammatical mistake, and feedback/correction is always welcome!
I would go LSI over LII. Mirror is probably more likely than superego relations for Bernie and Hillary (Hillary is apparently ESI). Plus, a lot of people wanted "Bernie or Trump" which would make sense if they're both beta quadra (Trump is apparently SLE).
Bernie strikes me as some kind of type so either EII, LII, ILE or IEE. He's all about possibilities about the outside world. For example, he looks at how light socialism or Keynesian economics has worked in Europe and how it can be applied to the US if it were done properly. He leans more towards idealism rather than pragmatism as light socialism or Keynesian economics is seen as extreme in the US. Since most of the people in this thread are leaning towards LII then I see no problem accepting him as such.

All I know is that he values and uses over . He doesn't like being aggressive, but he has learned to use when he is forced to in certain situations. It seems unnatural, but he is capable of doing it, I imagine at his age he could of learned to overcome his PoLR via experience over time in the same way other weak types have like ILE, IEE, EII and LII. LSI just seems like a very unlikely type for him because I can't see an LSI advocating overly idealistic ideas that may not work practically.
LSIs would opt for more something more practical and tangible, which is what I've seen Hillary Clinton do. If anything, Hillary Clinton has a very good chance of being LSI based on her behavior and political platform. She knows how to be aggressive without forcing it and her political ideas are very safe and in the mainstream. She's willing to stray a bit in terms of change, but nothing extreme and idealistic like Bernie has done. Whether xSx or Sxx types voted for Bernie doesn't matter, they could of been Alpha and Delta S types that value his ideas.

Idk about the validity of his (MBTI mixed with Socionics) approach, but Bernie as ESI in comparison to Obama's Fe ring true to me. "Feel the bern" - that's all very FiSe: evaluations of morals, standing up for the underdog, and so on.
My guess for now is EII-Ne. He looks similar to LIIs but I think he's more of an ethical type.
I am inclined to think IEE. IEE progressives really look up to him and idolize him. And his eyes just look Ne-ego as hell imo.
Typing him ILE-Ti would correspond well with my own experiences with ILE's IRL, which is that I completely agree with their political agendas and they talk and talk but never actually get anything done. And they will bend over backwards to avoid taking responsibility for something.

Well they are there to inspire the SEIs, though in my observations ILEs can get a lot done if they put their minds to it and not merely talk as a distraction to create a cloud of words around themselves which makes it impossible to pin responsibility.
I'm reading about Bernie's post-election brushes with Hillary and there seem to be some echoes of LSI-ILE supervision in how Hillary talks about their campaigns. They would agree on much, but then he would take her team's proposals and blow them up to fantastical, in her view, levels, which to her seemed like some wonky and unnecessary reinvention of the wheel that she took as hampering of her own campaign:
"... While Mr Sanders eventually campaigned for Ms Clinton following his defeat in the primaries, Ms Clinton did not hold back in her book, comparing the senator to the “deranged hitchhiker” in the 1998 Ben Stiller movie There’s Something About Mary. “A deranged hitchhiker says he’s come up with a brilliant plan,” Ms Clinton wrote, describing a scene in the movie. “Instead of the famous ‘eight-minute abs’ exercise routine, he’s going to market ‘seven minute abs.’ It’s the same, just quicker. Then the driver, played by Ben Stiller, says, ‘Well, why not six-minute abs?’” She added: “That’s what it was like in policy debates with Bernie. We would propose a bold infrastructure plan or an ambitious new apprenticeship program for young people, and then Bernie would announce basically the same thing, but bigger. On issue after issue, it was like he kept proposing four-minute abs, or even no-minute abs. Magic abs!”"

Coincidentally this is what I've heard SEIs criticize LSIs for - not proposing these kinds of grand changes and plans.
Bernie is a good example of an LII
Highly doubt it, more likely Te base since it's more of a Te base inclination to attempt to spread one's ideals towards other people and completely replace a current system with something new and fits one's ideals, a system that is methodical and perhaps more theoretical(Te +Ni-Ne).
I suspect that even Karl Marx would have been ET(N) or LIE.
So then I would ask what does Te have to do with systems and how systems is not Ti?
Ti: Distance between objects, position in space or among other objects, hierarchy. A system as an aggregate of distances that have been established intentionally or accidentally. A system of objective, law-bound relations in nature and society. A person’s objective needs, i.e. a system of relations with various objects (starting with food) that this person needs to have. All distances are a result of external movements.
ILE
However isn't Te the synthesis of methodology, the impact of Logical Formulae, Rules, Laws, and Instructions, Methods of Action, Efficiency, Work, force, etc. All within both Jungian and Aushura's SCS definition of Te.
The Use of Force, Fighting, Aggression, Physical Activity, Logical Formulae, Rules, Laws, and Instructions, Methods of Action, Efficiency, Work.
Ti is more or so about respect (in the sense of admiration), Fear, Distancing from Fights, Justice, Systems Bound by Laws, Logic, Power, Need, Dependency, Leverage, Hierarchies, Official Positions, Position in Space.
Te is impactful because of its extroverted nature, Ti is a logical analysis and processing of information, however is passive. You only rather see a Ti user being impactful is when their Demo Te takes control, but even still Ti only seems to be extremely forceful with their ideals is for SLE partially.
However it just seems that Te is more revolutionary, Ti builds off or slowly tweaks a system. People may flip between both when it's right for the situation, but having a fixation of projecting one's own ideals externally in a forceful manner, to have everyone think and operate on the same basis as you, is Te.
While Sanders is debatable, or he just isn't as forceful because he is an old man, but he still seeks out to completely challenge the structure of the American society in terms of healthcare, values, etc. The people he seems to be similar to Greta Thunsburg(E1 LSE), Ben Shapiro(LIE), Emma Watson(E1 LSE), and Karl Marx (LIE E1); different variations of people with different mindsets.
Just let it settle in

Te: External movements. Event, fact, action, change of position in space. External manifestation of the process, the form it takes. The object’s movement in space, and all other forms of external movement of objects. A sense of whether an action is logical, and whether something that is happening can be resisted.
