@Lily you are very minimalist here...
I am sure I have forgotten stuff.
Perfume collection (a few bottles were adopted by a cousin lately):

I found this bag unopened in the garage like a year ago and thought it would be good for organizing lipsticks and nail polish. I love nail polish and probably have a 100 different shades. The back side of it looks the same but has shades of purple/violet/lavender, more reds and various neutral and nude tones. I hang it in my closet. Other than that I have tons of products and makeup that I don't use. Some of it I bought with the intention to use and some was given to me. I might take a pic of it later but right now most of it is thrown into a big box and kept in the closet. I have tons of unopened makeup that is probably nearing it's expiration date. I mostly use moisturizing sunscreen, mascara, lip balm, and some powder, when I go to an appointment or sometimes to the store. I don't wear makeup around the house at all unless I am taking pics and don't want to look washed out. I have blonde lashes and dark blonde brows so I do use an auburn brow powder/pencil to match my hair.
My mom has never worn makeup but she knows how to accessorize with jewelry, clothing, color, perfume which makes her appear "made up". She also has very blue eyes. I have one sister that loves makeup and another who rarely wears it, like me. For someone who rarely wears makeup I sure have a lot of it. :/ I think my mom looks 20 years younger than her actual age because she only uses moisturizer (religiously, all day long) and never pulled or tortured her skin with a lot of products. Unlike me, she spent a lot of time in the sun but you can't tell from looking at her.

You guys really don't want to see my collection. It's bad. I have like a whole moving box full of makeup I don't use. I feel bad for my husband because like you lily, I have slowly taken over the bathroom one inch at a time. I'm hoping that if i just put one thing in there at a time, he won't notice.
I think i have some kind of minor hoarding situation going on. I try so hard to use up lotions and perfumes so I can finally throw them away and feel some sort of inner satisfaction of having used an entire bottle of lotion, but then when this happens I go to the store and buy like 3 more to replace it. It never ends.
I look like I'm a makeup hoarder here...
Smaller items like lipstick, mascara, and blush go in the drawers. Larger items like palettes and brushes go in the basket.
That sport face stuff broke me out so bad lol. But those plastic drawers are a good idea, i need to get some. I hate that I have like no room in my house to put my gigantic makeup collection.
The irony here is that half the time, I never even look like i'm wearing makeup....yet I have an entire department store worth of it.
I try to keep it kind of minimal and am not super sophisticated with cosmetics, potions, and the like.
I might have to try and find a way to get all my stuff in a photo lol goddamn

This thread is making me realize I could go through my stuff and discard quite a few things I'm not using at all, or that I use infrequently. (That always makes me happy!)
Here is everything I use on my face (the little jar has coconut oil in it, which I use to remove my eye makeup and moisturize at night). There are two foundations there bc my aunts gave me one as a gift, but I still had/have half a bottle of my usual kind to use. Oh, and the gross-looking kiddie toothbrush is what I use to smooth my eyebrows.
I didn't think to include body lotion or hair stuff, but I use those too. Body lotion is hemp something or other, and hair products (besides shampoo/conditioner) are Moroccan oil and spray gel. I also use a toothbrush and toothpaste, ofc.
Over the years I've gone from tons of products to just this. It's a lot easier, and now when I travel, packing toiletries is a breeze (um, not that I travel these days lol).

Edit: As I look at this pic I realize my makeup brush is in desperate need of washing. @Starfall and any other beauty pro types would be horrified. Speaking of which...how do you recommend cleaning them, starfall? I usually use hand soap.

I have, like, 8 things. Shampoo, conditioner, comb, shower gel, soap, moisturiser, deodorant, toothpaste.

Okay, I cataloged my shame for y'all.
Sorry for the inconsistent lighting and all the dust and smudges, lmao. I tried to brighten some of them and sharpen them enough that they weren't so blurry. This doesn't even include the big Sephora bags I have stuffed full of shit somewhere.
My main stash, including my little collection of rollerballs. A few are missing. And all my brushes are dirty, lmao.
Close up.
Random ass skin care, including a bunch of philosophy shampoo that got cropped out and a konjak sponge still in the package...
Close up of some of my favorite masks.
PALETTES. La Belle Carousel by Too Faced got cropped out by accident.
A good crease color and I thought the name was hilarious.
A clusterfuck of perfume. The sprays at the back are a set of designer knockoffs by Target lol. Scents "inspired by" Light Blue, Flowerbomb, Daisy, and J'adore.

How do you like the benefit erase paste @Emmym? I got it the other day and it seems pretty decent. I like your setup btw
Thanks!! I like it for under-eye circles. I also use NARS Chantilly for spot concealer and I use a brush to buff it into my skin after dabbing it on. I'm actually out of the erase paste--it's one of the only products I've ever completely "panned." Right now I use that pot to hold hair cream when I travel.

I'm the underdog in this area. I have one medium size makeup bag and it has one gloss, one eyshadow set, one foundation, one foundation brush, an eye liner and mascara

@Emmym you made me realize I am not insanely sick of make up anymore thanks!
Manage to hoard everything in the steel boxes behind.
Forgot that I also have hair gel and 3 nail polish colours. Make that 12 items.
Reason is a whore.
Emmym, your makeup collection is almost fetishistic, and I mean that in a good way. I think you could definitely do something with that particular passion if you want to.

@Emmym
Your makeup/skin care collection is on point, babe!
Polishes become thick over time due to evaporation of volatile solvents (such as butyl acetate and ethyl acetate). At the nail salon, they are most likely adding nail polish thinner to maintain the bottles, because the thinner adds more solvents. Nail polish thinner isn't expensive, so don't use nail polish remover!
How much time do you spend taking care of yourselves each day?
I'm putting on castor oil on my face now.
I recommend (because I'm 37 and I've done it) for everyone to stay out of the sun and wear sunscreen and reapply every 2-4 hours. Let it settle in before going out. Also start taking care of your skin early. In your 30 start applying hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and also over the counter retinol (vitamin A) products.

@Maritsa People who wear more sunscreen seem to have higher rates of cancer. I wouldn't do that... Also, in all your pictures you look like you have quite the tan

Sunscreen is the cheapest anti age remedy anyway. People just have to look into correct ingredients, most of the mainstream products are not interesting. You have to be a bit of a chemist to understand how it works.
@Maritsa, really? Because in your older pictures (e.g. your profile picture) you look really pale...
