    If Jung based his theories on the people he met in his life, even if he met more people than the average person, that means that he based his theories on a certain type of person.     I'm guessing it has something to do with intuitives being able to take little information (the small ray of light) and being able to work with that information and turn it into something new (the rainbow of colors).

    But in the case of Ni, it has more to do with symbols and patterns v.s. Ne which would be seeing possibilities. (hence the narrow field of colors being projected endlessly like a stream of consciousness).

    Just a very silly guess though...
