Dual type (as per tcaudilllg)
Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?
I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

As I understand it, N as a 'function' entails a wholeness and S as a 'function' entails seperateness, ergo one has N at times being related to what can be referred to as the bigger picture.
Apart from some form of annoyance, I'm not detecting anything in such a comment by @Kim to infer one or the other of these. Could you elaborate on how your observation ties in with a particular side of the irrational function(s)? Perhaps it's a gut feeling?
I suppose I don't see it, whether Kim is Se or Ne leading based on these criterias. Far be it from me to say, but perhaps relieving yourself of the need to type people apparently sporadically would help you relax? Or why do you do this also?
Se "Control" - SeTi, SeFi
Physical objects, elements, and people can be mobilized to achieve a goal. Se is intrisinctly involved in observing the properties of objects in the immediate sense. What precise color is it, how does it taste, what exactly does it smell like? Strong Se focuses easily and constantly on the outer properties of the objects at hand.
Ne "Possibility" - NeFi, NeTi
A certain event is spreading in multiplying directions of potential events.
To write this
Involves observing the outer qualities of an object. And, also what she wrote about that each object stands on it's own is in line with what you wrote.Originally Posted by Kim

I disagree to an extent but I apologise I can't link better sources just now.
You are pretty right but as discussed in another (?) thread is that any type can be controlling so it mixes personality with function.
To extrapolate on N, I have an ENFp friend who can sum up external trends in a way I can't, regardless of his other personality traits, hence N as a wholeness.
Hmm I did not expect to say all this So I hope it is not in vain regardless of SEE or IEE
Well, I think in a way you do what you have to do: meaning, what your personality makeup is telling you works for you, but its not always the best thing for the situation, but its the thing that feels right to you. Your not hanging artwork when you KNOW you won't be there long makes logical sense really. Unfortunately, I might wear myself arranging everything and hanging artwork and then unhanging and rehanging for the next move, but later feeling overwhelmed and arrears in all kinds of tasks and reminding myself of that little waste of time.
My first big move from the home I loved and worked on was during the divorce/custody proceedings and while I prepared our home for sale, a temporary home at my parents townhouse, for the duration of one schoolyear. My son and I had a very large bedroom on the second floor and a bathroom. In our room there was plenty of room for my full and his twin bed and both of our dressers and nightstands and a desk and room to spare. The main floor was my parents and we were not welcome to put much of any of our stuff there. But we had this giant empty basement. I went to huge lengths to make it like our own living room. I bought an area carpet, installed lights, made a TV and computer area, but the biggest obstacle was the huge expanse of walls that were covered with shiny aluminium-foil covered insulation. Now that's not homey. I had this great idea of how to cover that ugliness and make it something great and I pursued this idea until it was completed. I designed a giant fabric mural! It covered two huge walls that sectioned off our living/recreation area. On plain muslim I used yards of fabric for calico hills in various greens and a huge yellow-gold calico castle with red-tiled (fabric) turrets and flags blowing in the wind.. It was a major undertaking but I had plenty of room to lay it out to work on. This was a really great project but how long did we have to enjoy it? Not more than a few months, and I knew that was going to happen, too, so it wasn't really a wise use of my time, which was always pinched... (Our apartment we moved to did not have a place for it and I tried to sell it but the mom who was interested in it for her basement playroom couldn't afford whatever I was asking and I ended up just giving it to her free when I realized she was as bad off as me)..
