yes... there is one or more new project by Dan Berglund & Magnus Östrom, ive listened to some good things...A tragic thing happened.
My brother is completely into this kind of comptemporary jazz, he know many many many stuff... He show me often good track, but I don't remember the name now, I need to ask him.
Im not a really big fan of that style, aside EST wich I find really good (Ive "Leucocyte" album on vinyl, excellent stuff) and other track here and there, I find overraly this lack something... Idk... Perhaps intensity or "life", dunno...
There is Pat Metheny too... Ive the 2*12" "Secret story" (I buyed it for "above the treetops" track, epic tekno mix intro !), but aside "above the treetops", the album is quite elevator music style... Interrestingly that's a complete different story in live, it's quite excellent.

Squarepusher is plenty kinds of jazz, otherwise you'll have to eliminate Miles's entire electric period of the late 60s/early 70s and the jazz of numerous other innovators while you hug up to this finger-snapping sissy shit you favor, which is designed for uptight nerds who signal their free and breezy nature by wearing suits with their ties loosened. Squarepusher is a guy, probably LSI, who has blown multiple forms of music to pieces and not only reassembled them in his image but also embroidered and expanded upon them in a characteristic style that few could match in its complexity, with a level of ability as a bass guitarist as well as a producer that makes it frequently challenging to tell whether he's using real or synthesized instruments. Squarepusher's approach to jazz redefines and modernizes the idiom, which would shock your pussy-assed sensibilities less if you weren't so addicted to felching up audio laxatives like Kenny G.
Lol from my experience around jazzers I've learned one thing -- Kenny G is not jazz, he is the devil. Also miles davis is the shit. His third phase was definitely pretty out there but I tend to like a lot of his stuff from when he played with Wayne Shorter.
My friend that plays sax was really into Kenny G, and by that I mean the one that actually plays jazz, Kenny Garrett.

Yea Freddie Hubbard was an amazing ballad player, I'd love to get my hands on a flugel at some point.
Other ballads I enjoy that he regularly plays are body and soul and here's that rainy day.
