I think we need a sub forum for computer apps and so on, as these are becoming more common... anybody agree?

I checked out your app. I notice a major oversite. It seems to be almost entirely in Russian. Only the first page is in English. I think that will make it a hard sell...

i just installed the app and i haven't gotten around to using it yet but i'd like to quote the disclaimer that popped up when i opened it:
this is pretty aggressive. This application is ad-supported and our advertising partner, Airpush Inc., may place ads within applications and in your device's notification tray and home screen. Airpush collects certain information in accordance with the permissions you just granted through the prior screen.* When you click on advertisements delivered by Airpush, you will typically be directed to a third party's web page and we may pass certain of your information to the third parties operating or hosting these pages, including your email address, phone number and a list of the apps on your device.
For more information on how Airpush collects, uses and shares your information, and to learn about your information choices, please visit the Airpush Privacy Policy. If you do not wish to receive ads delivered by Airpush in the future, you may visit the Airpush opt-out page or delete this app.
*These were accessing call info like your phone number and something about opening network sockets.
Permissions to use network is for publishing a link of the app to facebook and when you finish a test you can share your sociotype with your friends. and that's it. also you can check on google play the permissions we are using. it can collect phone numbers I guess if it needs to but nothing about e-mails. Sorry for the inconvenience I will surely put this message to the app description. Thank you
not sure how that's aggressive...
And I would hide my face in you and you would hide your face in me, and nobody would ever see us any more.
you can check out this link if you want to know for what purposes airpush uses this info
It's not just ads inside the app, they can put them on your home screen and in your notification bar.
Of course how much that bothers anyone is subjective, I personally think it's overboard, not enough to rail against it but enough to let people know before they download it.
Based on my experience it is comparatively more aggressive than most other apps.
Maybe it's super cool and worth it though, we'll see.
oh, that's just unnecessary.
And I would hide my face in you and you would hide your face in me, and nobody would ever see us any more.
Whazzup homedawg? Great pic btw. In any case if you speak Russian you could easily become an authority on this site by translating some of that Gulenko for us. I hate the guy but I'm a minority in that sense, a lot of people here would probably really appreciate it.

Also, no fucking way. Who coded this app? Was it you? Did you just win by means of app coding? I approve.

Sup. o/ +1 for memorable indirect conversation-starter.
Reason is a whore.
hi, by the way
other than the ads the app is alright (ftr i've only had one ad come up in my notification bar since yesterday). i would classify it more as for beginners or for someone who just likes having some basics to reference right there on their phone for some reason. its got some basic info and its got type descriptions and tests grouped by author. its well organized and it hasn't been buggy at all.
Projection is ordinary. Person A projects at person B, hoping tovalidate something about person A by the response of person B. However, person B, not wanting to be an obejct of someone elses ego and guarding against existential terror constructs a personality which protects his ego and maintain a certain sense of a robust and real self that is different and separate from person A. Sadly, this robust and real self, cut off by defenses of character from the rest of the world, is quite vulnerable and fragile given that it is imaginary and propped up through external feed back. Person B is dimly aware of this and defends against it all the more, even desperately projecting his anxieties back onto person A, with the hope of shoring up his ego with salubrious validation. All of this happens without A or B acknowledging it, of course. Because to face up to it consciously is shocking, in that this is all anybody is doing or can do and it seems absurd when you realize how pathetic it is.
Nobody download that fucking app, the description reeks of too much spyware. This is not the direction we want our society to go.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
Creepy Russian, take that shit out of your signature or, I promise, you will be ostracized. Not only because you are advertising on a private forum, but because people will fucking hate you once they download it. I work for a company that sells Android products and I get more complaints stemming from apps with such bloatware than ANYTHING.
So yeah. Cut that shit out.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
Yeah, I've got the app and it seems legit so far. I swear my phone has not exploded or anything.

Yeah and most of them are complete shit. Trust me, this is my JOB, these kinds of apps are the number one source of problems with Android phones. I repeat, this is how I make a living, and half my time at work is spent removing shitty apps like these or doing factory resets to get subtle adware out of people's phones.

Well like, no, of course I did not. I am generally an incredibly 'public' person though so being accessible to advertising companies doesn't really bother me. You're right, I more than likely should have cared about this and read that stuff of which you speak, however in this instance I did not and everything on my phone seems ok so far.

Give it a while.
...Or do the smart thing and uninstall it.
Re: advertising companies, you are just giving people free advertising fodder and more information on how to manipulate you. It's not smart for you personally, and it's a trend in our society that leads down a path of decreased freedom for all, and a need for even more anxious wariness on an individual level.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

I'm not arguing. I'm telling you it's a shitty app that is most likely using too much RAM on people's phones by constantly pinging their information to different companies every time they boot their phones or load the app, and also most likely doing shitty things with people's information so that you or someone you know can make money by sitting on ass and not caring about other people.
Fuck off.

For the record: any application that does something with your phone outside of the program it claims to be, is both using up your data plan behind your back, as well as taking up your phone's RAM and making it slower by having background processes on top of the ones that actually run the program, which will be running constantly, draining your battery, and making your phone slower.
It's a shitty app. Don't download it.
