I know what 8 is about, but you never really answered my question.
I know what 8 is about, but you never really answered my question.
I think I've learned more in this thread than I ever hoped to, about 8's, about life, about people, about society etc. Suddenly it all makes sense.

I think that kind of behavior, while maybe being a grand-scale example of what unhealthy E8 behavior can look like, is not necessarily inspired by the 8 fixation. I think people of any enneagram type can exhibit such paranoid, grandiose, defensive behavior under such extreme circumstances. For example, I am pretty convinced, after rather extensive research into his childhood and rise to power, that ****** was a 3w4.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
Ive changed my mind to INTp 6w5 for now.
Here's a picture of me standing next to an LIE. This was a trip to Hawaii that I rather enjoyed (a rare occurrence while in the navy). I think my face looks particularly LIE in this photo, although my clothing is Se.
These portraits barely work, but I think the general consensus is that I would be SLE because I do take on a very Se approach to things. I wear bright colors etc when I'm challenging something. I originally wore extravagant colors as a way of giving people the finger, because they often complain about how I dress and I was tired of listening to them. So one day I started wearing BDU's, and whatever else I wanted as a way to show them that I don't care what they think. So most of my clothing is this sorta "F U" clothing. I only own 3 pairs of jeans that I bought after I quit the navy, along with some new collared shirts.

Your clothing is Se but your face is TeNi?
Obsequium amicos, veritas odium parit
He reminds me of myself in ways. Too stiff for SLE. I'm going with LIE-Ni 3w4 sp/sx.
He also reminds me a bit of Ezra, for whom I can settle on no other type but LIE-Te.

OMG I did it

all the beta STs i know wear diffuse colors that don't stand out. actually, most people i know wear diffuse colors that don't stand out, the few people who don't IME tend to be Alpha SFs who are more audacious when it comes to fashion choices. the difference i see is that their sense of fashion comes from an acute sense of what looks aesthetically pleasing (in the cultural normative sense), rather than out of some sort of rebellion. all in all this says zilch about your type.
is sx/sp overtyped? I just feel like everyone is an sx/sp.
@Radio... there's a thing in the list of articles somewhere that I was going to quote but I keep losing the link. It basically said that LIE mobilizing Se is used mostly to give off an appearance of Se-ness, and that LIE's might wear bright colors out of defiance... which is what I did.
I wonder if I made this thread to teach everyone stuff... hell I don't know anymore.

LIE dress in Sun actually.
okay but my point was that making 2D correlations like that is bad practice. Se is not analogous to bright colours, that would make Ne analogous to dull colours. it could just be one example from one isolated case, it doesn't necessarily apply to everyone of that type. Se-HA could manifest in a number of ways, and a number of different thought processes could result in wearing bright colors. do you see what i mean? step back a little and stop taking these descriptions so literally.

This guy reminds me so much of Ezra on the whole. Probably a 3-6-8, I'm thinking 3w4/6w5/8w7.

I see.
I think LIE-Se 4w8 fits just right

For an LIE I'm picking up zero Te coming from this guy. There is evidence of Ti though, like the way he posted this thread stating that he already made up his mind about his typings. He does make a more dry, collected, brick-wall presentation than do most SLEs, which is why I suggested ISTj for him, creative Se-subtype - it's the ideal synthesis of the LIE and SLE typings - rational temperament + Se-ego + very weak suggestive feeling function. Strong creative Se can be confused for base.
ISTj typing would also explain why people irl tell him that he is so autarchic.
me thinks this is your dual, Gilly
everyone with a healthy sex drive types themselves sx/sp lol ... typing yourself as anything else than sx-primary is akin to making a public declaration that you're impotent or less potent than the next guy typing himself sx
I'd suggest so/sx for you since you seem very open in communication. You also commented somewhere that you have trouble developing prolonged interest with girls, which is a trait of so/sx's share - they tend to hop from person to person, socializing with everyone in this manner but having trouble focusing on anyone in particular.
Armin van Buuren btw is also so/sx.
Socionics gives me hope.
LSI is not a horrible typing.

I'd consider ISTj, too.

Lol^ love it, perfect pic. Just some helpful advice.
ok I fixed my hair. it looks good now.
by the way, social 8's are known to be a "knight in shining armor" and often confused with counterphobic six.
