Many of the answers were directly related to the social stigmas faced and dealt/dealing with over 20 years.
Some were related to my spiritual beliefs.
And some related to my insecurities.
None of my answers would lead me to think schizotypal.
What were your answers, ckc?

I'd be the disorganized subtype (if it is even a subtype? The reading I'v done uses the term "facet"). Loss of will power, disturbed sense of self and self-ownership, rambling speech, difficulty focusing. Similarly with you, it explains the difficulties I've had in life so far :/ What hurts me is that I've complained about these problems to mental health professionals before and only one of them picked it up.

Actually, in my case, I was saying that the difficulties I've had led to some of the answers I gave. Iow, in my case, the difficulties explain the 'symptoms', rather than a schizotypal disorder explaining them. But I'm guessing that for you, as you said, the disorder may explain the difficulties you've had.
CKC, does viewing this disorder as explaining some of your difficulties help you? Does it clear things up for you? Help you feel less...well, less 'disordered'?

It's a clinical self-report test to measure if one is schizotypal.
http://schizophreniabulletin.oxfordj...4/555.abstract
If I understand correctly, everyone falls along a "psychoticism spectrum", with schizotypals and schizophrenics at the middle and extreme ends, and regular hallucinatory/creative/daydreamy states at the low end.

Cat, I hope you don't mind my saying that it seems like lately you're able to find yourself easily in various types and descriptions, and I'm not sure ... are any of these the real you? I'm not trying to be harsh--it happens. And maybe you're schizotypal IRL (I can't say, haven't met you), but on this forum, you don't come across that way imo. To me, you seem clear and engaging and aware of others.
LSI: “I still can’t figure out Pinterest.”
Me: “It’s just, like, idea boards.”
LSI: “I don’t have ideas.”
Haha, you're a nut CKC.
What number range do you have to be in order to be considered schizotypal and what low number range do you have to be in order to be considered hallucinatory/creative/daydreamy?
I second what snorekill says. You shouldn't take these self-tests too seriously, depending on one's state of mind at the taking of the test and how their life is at the moment, one can get very different results. It's also easy to score low or high on these tests if that's what you subconsciously want as the result.

The test can't diagnose you. The number I recall is >32 is grounds for looking into a diagnosis if the individual is impaired beyond functioning (ideally; but we all know how poorly ideals fare in the real world).
The other use of the test is investigating characteristics of schizotypy. There's a whole lot of research if you google around for journals and things, really interesting.
This test isn't one of "those" tests though, it's a psychological instrument. The questions are all neutral self-reports of objective characteristics ("People sometimes find it hard to understand what I am saying") and subjective psychotic experiences ("When you look at a person, or yourself in a mirror, have you ever seen the face change right before your eyes?"), hence the high consistency of scores between retests. Check out that paper abstract I linked, it's interesting.
I disagree though that it's easy to score high if part of you wants to. The questions can almost all be objectified based on others' reports, and the subjective reports are all concrete. Has anyone ever said I'm difficult to follow? Yeah. Have I ever looked at something and seen it change size? Yeah, kind of hard to miss that happening.
Since you're fond of rough evaluations, my favourite one when something doesn't seem to line up to me is thus: "This is science; have people more competent than me raised any criticisms?" As a lay person you're not in a strong position to adequately evaluate the research of people with more experience than you, it's as simple as that. As a fellow seeker, I think the best thing we can do is look at the existing criticisms and contrary positions and come to our own conclusions from there.

Yes, I'm sure that I'd score higher if I took this test at times of higher stress. My social anxiety increases as does my tendancy to see find comfort in various types of magical thinking... e.g. perhaps that billboard is telling me to do what that cat indicatedI should do when it meowed at me whilst I was thinking about doing that thing, which I didn't do, but now that billboard is kind of confirming that I should do that... thing.

This test seems like it might unfavor introverts. Who doesn't have some sort of mental disorder these days? Seems more uncommon to not have anything.
My main point is that its not the test itself that is invalid, but the fact that the individual itself has the potential to produce biased results. It's a form of cognitive bias, but more specifically Confirmation bias, you can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_bias. This is essentially accepting any information that coincides with your current belief system even if its wrong. It could also manifest in test taking where you answer in such a way to get the desired result you want. This is why self-tests are unreliable, they are the polygraph tests of psychology if not worse and shouldn't be used as a reliable means of indicating anything.
If I wanted to, I could of gotten a very low score on this test to appear as normal as possible, but I answered honestly instead because I wanted to see the truth and not lie to myself and others. This quote explains your current mind set at this time and other instances when you defended something that turned out to be wrong: "Smart people believe weird things because they are skilled at defending beliefs they arrived at for non-smart reasons." I would't rule out that you might be schizotypal, but you should look to a professional psychiatrist for confirmation and not an online test.

That's ridiculous, you of all people should know that introversion in Socionics does not equate to stereotypical introversion. Even if it did, it still won't impact whether you have the disorder or not. That's like saying being an EXXP lowers your chances of having an ADHD diagnosis because you have characteristics in your personality that make you more likely to have it, which makes no sense at all.

SO FUCKING PISSED I CLICKED SUBMIT SAW MY SCORES FOR A MILLISECOND AND IT SUDDENLY DISAPPEARED AND WENT BACK TO THE TEST WHAT THE FUCK FUCK THIS SHIT I DON'T CARE AGH
maybe a saint is just a dead prick with a good publicist
maybe tommorow's statues are insecure without their foes
go ask the frog what the scorpion knows
I'll agree with you on this, but what I don't understand is why would being an introvert disqualify 10 points from schizotypy? It shouldn't be deducted just because their personality makes them more schizotypal. Plus taking out 10 points seems highly arbitrary anyways.
So I assume that you follow the same standard for the schizotypal test by subtracting exxp traits for ADHD and subtracting inxx traits for schizotypal? If you're going to subtract points for introversion, you might as well subtract points for intuition, while you're at it.

The only clear trait that would signify introversion that would cause you to get a higher score is probably suspicion imo. What do odd speech, eccentric behavior, points of reference and magical beliefs have anything to do with introversion? I'd say eccentric behavior might be linked with intuition if anything. Having no close friends is probably irrelevant to introversion as introverts put more energy into having less, but more personal relationships, even though it might be more difficult to achieve for them than extraverts, so it balances out that way. I think what's the most obvious to me is the correlation between being a 6 and being schizotypal. Being tested for levels of social anxiety and levels of suspicion, which are clear 6 traits.

I had a feeling you'd degenerate to a childish insult, though knowing you this is not a surprise at all. So debating this with you for any longer is completely pointless because all you do is just undermine claims and insult rather than give any substance to your argument. Anyways my main argument is you are clearly overestimating the link between introversion and schizotypy and I'll leave it at that.

I guess I am not that weird...
Introversion, in particular introversion stemming from a lack of pleasure derived from social interactions, is an aspect of schizotypy. In addition, some of the questions about lack of friends and suspiciousness might suggest that schizotypes are loners out of fear.
Traveler, you'd do best not bringing pop psych and questionable systems like Socionics into actual psychology. Enjoy each hobby for what it is. Trying to use Socionics as a hermeneutical tool for Socionics (of course you're more schizotypal, you're INXx!) makes as much sense as using Socionics as a hermeneutical tool for astrology (of course you're less perfectionistic than a Virgo, you're an ISXp!) or the Enneagram or whatever. In general, mixing and matching systems is like trying to fit pieces from different jigsaw puzzles together. It doesn't work, the pieces don't fit, and all you wind up with are broken edges and a nonsensical picture.
