    Default EIE's and books

I have this IEE teacher and he gave us this assignment (yet again)..I always keep asking this on this forum for help, ionno about you guys but books aren't my cup of tea. I don't enjoy sitting down to read a book every now and then-I'd rather be online...or playing something...or eating for that matter . No books seem to interest me -except some- but i don't remember which genres that I like....Can anyone suggest any books that EIE's would like to read? Perhaps something that will be suitable for assignments (analyzing themes and able to have a class discussions on the book)?

I'm hoping that my teacher doesn't kill me when he starts giving out all these suggestions as to why THIS book would be good for me. Why this? . At the very least can someone recommend me a book or suggest some genre/type of book that i would enjoy? Plz and thankyou

There are no type-related books. Think about some interest you may have, or something you may be curious about, then Google away or browse Amazon for titles relating to pertinent topics.

And ignore any condescending responses to your post. Reading should be something you feel encouraged to do to, not shamed.

Well, if I was condescending or shaming, I apologize. I did spend some time directly communicating with ReiLing before when s/he posted about a paper for this class, but there wasn't enough information on offer for me to be of any help.

A lot of my frustration on this topic is related to having worked in book publishing and education, two fields that both happen to be relevant to his posts about this class.

Not everyone has to be deeply into reading; some of the people I'm most fond of are not literary types (and some are extremely so). That said, I see learning to read well and write well as elements of learning to think well.

ReiLing seems, in posting about this class, to feel unconfident in it. That's unfortunate. A teacher ideally will give students the tools they need to feel confident in a given course. But if the teacher does not, it's up to the students to bootstrap. If students in general are disengaged, it probably results from lousy education practices, and from intelligence being defined too narrowly. But students, by the time they are old enough to be self-directed, are ultimately responsible for their learning. Hence my harshness.

Lol i never expected that many responses o.o, quite frankly it seems that I'm trying to find like the "perfect book" for my ISU. I need a book where i could talk about it at least for 10 minutes -plus PaSsioNately . My friends told me that I should avoid books that i hate...and since i don't read books often i can't discern what's "best" or maybe that's just myself doubting lol. Most books i read are "okay" with me but again I haven't read many books, so I forget about my preferences. Btw i say "yet again" because I don't feel too good about posting about "getting help" or whatever from forums, but it's always good since I get one more source of advice from them. I don't know if you can make a connection there but that's what i think when i come barging in for help.

But anyways I liked your post golden, it's a great reminder for me seeing that it's past mid-terms for me and the relaxing part is starting to kick in. When i read your post it really hit the spot lol, started thinking about a lot of things during lunch. Thank you for your post, i appreciate it

By the way just so you know...it's not all doom and gloom for my English class. I'm actually doing fairly well. Finished my essays and other assignments without requiring that much external help, ionno I go on the forums for help whenever i start doubting. And since my teacher loves to help his students, he can only gives suggestions-and sometimes the suggestions aren't what i need.

Recently i paired up with a Fe-EIE to do a presentation...I already saw that many problems would occur between him and I. So we started early a week before the presentation -3 days we were quite distracted and brainstormed a little bit, the next 3 days we spent a LOT of time on our thesis and quotes. Took us like 2 hours to think/refine of a thesis that was perfect for us, then it took even longer to find quotes. Stayed up until 5:00 in the morning to get 7 quotes + make something out of it. In the end when we presented, we could only bring up 3 quotes because...our presentation was too long. I srsly thought that we didn't have enough, but oh well. So much for working our asses off.

He did most of the talking about philosophy/life/family/a little and i focused mainly on the content of our seminar. It went fairly smooth...teacher was really impressed with our presentation. With that said, i should really reconsider pairing up with my identical next time...

Okay, I'm relieved I didn't piss you off, lol.

You're correct when you say that you need to find something you're passionate about. Just think of some subjects that interest you and search Amazon for some books on those topics, read the reviews, etc.

What things are you interested in?

If i knew right now I would be spazzing lol. I'm still searching ><, but i think the links with the personalitycafe INFJ book thingies helped. Maybe 1 book in there was alright, by the way what was that book written by the russian author (with the 16 personality types present). I swear i saw that somewhere..

Haha, very funny. I don't think this is type related to be honest. Well I guess intuitives would like something more abstract in comparison to sensors, idk. Wow it took me a long time to type this, i just took MDMA so everything is kinda weird right now, lol.

Seriously, I can only recommend Existentialist/Absurdist books which would appeal to the Ni.

And, going off stereotypes, dramatized historical (non)fiction. Shakespeare even.

I didn't say anything about humor. What is your idea of Absurdism?

    books, makes little differences

I find it annoying. I had a LII friend who kept giving me these absurdist stories to read and this kind of literature would just irk me.

That's really weird that you mention Absurdism. I just looked that up a few days ago because I came across it somewhere when I was reading about a Existentialism. Yeah, they are similar, it's not really like the Theistic existentialism though.

It's awesome how every time I beat you senseless in a thread you suddenly adopt whatever weapon I used against you so you can perpetuate your fraudulent "I'M ILI 4 RILLZ!" campaign.
