I have disagreed stating that one does not need that much information for an accurate typing. I would suppose that this is a difference in process vs result types. I'd rather come to a typing first, too, then re-visit and change it if there is evidence that points otherwise.

That would be Positivist/Negativist; I've jumped the gun on typings many times, much to the bewilderment of INTxs

In Gulenko's writing on different styles of logic (this one) it seems like indeed he has tried at first to associate this style of reasoning with positivism/negativism. However, his later article on cognitive styles this "jumping the gun" vs starting working your way up is associated with evolutionary/involutionary which represents process/result dichotomy.

So iono ... from what I've observed it is indeed process/result division that most closely corresponds to this difference rather than pos/neg dichtomy. Process types are more likely to have a style that sort of rolls forwards, adding simpler arguments one by one to achieve some more complex conclusion, taking some axioms and building on them. Result types seem to have a style that is descriptive, first trying to relay the whole picture and then attempting to cut it into simpler parts.

That sounds spot-on for me; with the typing thread, for instance, I start with whatever dichotomy (or pair of dichotomies) hits me the hardest, then I overlay more and more, until either one type remains, or the choice is obvious.

If Positivist/Negativist is maintained, but with Process/Result weighted more strongly as a determining factor in this, we're left with the following, from fastest to slowest:


I gotta find the next relevant dichotomy to plug in here... Judicious/Decisive? If I do that, then we're left with this:


These are generalizations, of course, and it would take a good deal of human examples to nail this down (or a different arrangement if this one should falter too much), but there could definitely be something here...

I dont know Hyradngea but from what I can infer she doesnt seem IEI at all. Not enough emotional naturallness, spontaniety or emotionality at all. No is what Im geting at, or Ni. EII, on the other hand, makes perfect sense, restrained emotions, no need for wackiness etc and resvered in attitudes but in a more sincere form then ESIs, who are quite sensual towards people. She doesnt seem sensual but spiritual, so nother reason to consider valueing.
