I had make a survey some time ago and only the minority has the same type as their mom or dad.

I guess that at most one third of the children have the same type as one parent.

I come from a family with 8 children. I haven't typed them all, but this is what I've concluded so far:
Mother is the same type as one of my sisters. They are pretty close. (ISFp)
Father has a unique type. None of my brothers or sisters is the same type (ESTj).
Other children seem to be a mix of everything.
EIE, ENFj, intuitive subtype.
E3 (probably 3w4)

that is what i was getting at. if there is an inescapable appropriation that is required in the act of understanding, this brings into question the validity of socionics in describing what is real, and hence stubborn contradictions that continue to plague me.
Ina you don't have your mother's type 1005 sure, don't EVER doubt it again.Originally Posted by he died with a felafel
Well I am back. How's everyone? Don't have as much time now, but glad to see some of the old gang are still here.

Brothers: IxFp, ENxp, INFj
5 children out of 8 seem to have Fe in their ego block. I guess my mothers type did influence a lot.
My sisters all look alike and they look like my mother from when she was young. They are so similar that people sometimes confuse them for one another. I'm different - I look like my ESTj father a bit. I'm less forceful, but I have the same kind of "let's just get to the point" - attitude.

Big familyThe parentheses are the things Im not sure about. My father is hard to type. He has some qualities of both ESTJ and ESTP. He loves projects but seldom finishes them. Is easy going in many ways. He does not have the forceful conquering nature of the stereotypical ESTP. He likes to help the underdog often. Maybe hes the Amercian ESTP and the Russian one that is mentioned in socionics is the bad ass one.

The artifact which is the source of my power will not be kept on the Mountain of Despair beyond the River of Fire guarded by the Dragons of Eternity. It will be in my safe-deposit box. The same applies to the object which is my one weakness.
