    Default Honus Wagner

OK, I want to have another typing test to see what you guys say. Below are two quotes about a guy, and tell me what his type is. I removed his name from the quotes and inserted an "X" there instead (even though none of you would know who it is anyway). Personally, if I saw these quotes, one or two types would immeditately pop into my head.

"No one was ever very close to X. His thoughts and feelings, save for a brief, occasional glimpse, are his own. The recollections of twenty years of brilliant deeds on the diamond must be a source of genuine satisfaction to the greathearted but secretive Pirate. But he never allows anyone to share that accumulated treasure save at long intervals and in disconnected fragments."

"Aside from X's great artistic achievments he has additional merits that entitle him to special distinction. He has a quiet, unassuming disposition and a remarkable native modesty; is absolutely correct in living habits; and is a model of deportment on and off the field. Therefore in all ways X represents the greatest development of the model ball player. May his shadow never grow less!"

The types most likely to appear as secretive and externally calm and collected are in my experience ISTp and INTp. I am generally a bundle of nerves and it tends to show...

Sure, what the heck, I don't like these, but I'm bored, I'll have a go.

THIS is what I like about introverts, how they don't normally say what's going on in there, but when they do, i can be sure it's from themselves and not something seemingly pulled out of thin air. (the other part of that paragraph talks about baseball/softball, but I haven't a clue what it means. )

"He has a quiet, unassuming disposition and a remarkable native modesty; is absolutely correct in living habits; and is a model of deportment on and off the field. Therefore in all ways X represents the greatest development of the model ball player. May his shadow never grow less!"
My first instinct is to say ISTp. However, shoving that aside is the ISTj. I have a difficult time imaging the ISTp to have an unassuming disposition and modesty. Worse is the thought of an ISTp "absolutely correct in living habits". I can however imagine that in an ISTj. I can also imagine it in an ISFj male.

    My thoughts? An ISxj.
I would need more info to attempt beyond that though.

(I have to point out that based on the quotes, there is too little info to really get a good idea about this guy. It's amazing the exteremes in differences between someone's "public" face and their private one.)

    Good observation.

Anyway, he's not not INFJ- but a melacholied ISFP, Honus Wagner.

I realize that there is not much to go on, but for me, it would sound at least like some sort of irrational introvert (the quotes sound like something Carl Jung would write).

As for the "correct living habits", that could just be more Si, but maybe more specifically +. Honus Wagner was known to be stongly against ciggarettes, would play various sports in the off season to stay healthy, and was probably the first athlete of his time to lift weights.

Here is what he looked like:
