Yeah.. Started getting near-sighted around 19. I used to put them on only when necessary. For awhile there, I didn't think I could be stylish with them. I had some lame insurance for awhile where I'd just be able to afford the sorriest glasses ever. The ones I have now are cool enough. Kind of splurged on these Armani ones and then have some cheap Ray-Bans. Both plastic frames. I also have a kind of ridiculous pair of jackie-o prescription sunglasses, but what the hell.
edit: Oh, and yes. And.. pajamas and a playstation t-shirt.
I can't remember when I started wearing them...probably about the same age as Megadoomer did . I am currently wearing them now, along with black jeans, a purplish shirt, a blackish pullover, and underclothing.
When I was about 11 or 12, my Mother took me to an optometrist and he recommended I wear glasses. In less than 6 months, I decided "fuck this" and never wore them again. I probably still need them, but I seem to get along just fine without them.
I got old and started needing them to read recently.

You can't wake a person who is pretending to be asleep.
All the time.
Im nearsighted, so I have glasses but I never wear them, because of the look. I have to wear them if Im driving, though.

Nah, I think it was like $100 for a year supply, and I can easily make that last 2years. lol
That may have just been a co-pay though. I don't remember, but compared to glasses it's negligible especially for the extra convenience.
they say to replace them every month, but I usually go 2-3 months unless they bother me.

I was 15 when I needed them and all of a suddenly I couldn't look and see. It was as if my brain couldn't make things out. I had to get those really really big glasses like meekakitty has on her youtube video because I kept telling my mom that I couldn't see. I looked like this :
I don't know what happened in that year. I also couldn't take any biology lab classes because I kept telling the teacher that I couldn't see through the microscope. It was weird.

The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. My eyesight is over 20/20. Last time I checked (3 years ago, thus now it might be lower) It was 15/10, so 30/20 if you scale up to 20 ft. I didn't know I had a particularly good eyesight 'til I was 17: one day, the slides for a lecture had been misformatted, and I was the only one that could still read them fine.

yes. i started wearing them when i was about 4 but then stopped later in elementary school because i was embarassed about getting teased about them. eventually my eyes adjusted and fixed themselves and i didn't need them for years. but i recently started needing them again and started wearing them about, idk, a year ago. i almost had to wear an eye patch when i was a kid but they secretly observed me wearing it for about an hour to see if i would pull at it which would mess up how it works, and i did.
i'm not wearing them now just cos i haven't gotten around to putting them on and don't feel like it, heh. i am wearing blue jeans and a green v-neck sweater.
I knew someone who wore glasses just because he thought they looked cool. Incidentally, they did look really cool on him.
I don't wear. People used to tell me that I'll get a bad vision considering the large time I spend in front of my computer, though this hypothesis didn't confirm so far (24-32, 8 years of nerdness ).
"Fuck you slater" is because this thread is not in "anything goes".
LOL! Well FDG is super-duper in every aspect, so they will be a race of superhumans.
I wear glasses because I can't see shit without them.
Couldn't give you an exact date (or even year), but... it's been quite some time.
I've needed glasses since I was in 4th grade. It's weird, but I remember being able to see perfectly well before that, but then I just didn't anymore. Switched to contacts about two years ago though.

I started wearing them at 24 (6 years ago) and only wanted them because I was having some trouble reading road signs at night... I found that I don't have that much of a prescription and most people with pretty good eye sight can usually use my glasses and see a little better with them. I don't need to wear them all the time but i do because I actually like being able to see that little bit better and it keeps me from squinting if I do need to see far away. I don't wear them at work though, that's the only place I practically never wear them.
BTW All creative ESIs wear glasses!
Among the users who wear glasses, most of them are introverts.
Extroverts need to expand their physical/mental world. I have heard that cavemen who had a strange "disease" which made them see what was located far away from them proliferated as they were capable of "leading their tribes towards victory". Seriously, as someone said, introverts' insight is a substitute for "scanning the environment".

I wore glasses as a kid but then my eyesight continued sky-diving and I got switched to contacts. Still wear them, overall been sight-assisted for about 12+yrs. Fairly blind too, about 9/20 on average. A good part of it is astigmatism I think.
I am also not wearing a hat.
Reason is a whore.
i started wearing them in some late grade of primary school.now i wear lenses (which i started using in the 2nd year at the university) because my glasses are old and stupid and the degree has changed.i only use glasses them to study for exams or when i am on the netz at home.i really need a kick ass pair but i am afraid that i'll stop wearing the lenses then (of course ,i'd be more than OK with it but i cant say the same for my mum.lol.)

People who have HIV wear glasses.

Figures seem to suggest that between two-thirds and three-quarters of the population wear glasses or contacts of some kind. I had no idea it was so high...it just isn't something that has registered with me before on that kind of level. (Of course they may not be wearing them all the time and contacts aren't visible).
