That's way to confusing and basically off. The connections/relations that Fi functions determine are related to properties (eg "this in common, that different"), much like Ti, not some disemboweled additional channels. Indeed the color allegory is relatively good to point out that there is not necessarily a matter or more/less, when creating relationships, but what type these are.
An important error is the false view that the nature of Static makes the Fi conclusions unchanging, or hardly changing. Not only that it's not true - it depends much on new information - but it's not related to Dynamic/Static. Even if someone does not understand what's this all about, it doesn't even make intuitive sense for Ne, or when you consider Fi Irrationals, for example. Fi may change rarer than Ti because it's subjective (feeling) and the evidence may be confined easily to expectations and revised views (eg overlooking the mistakes of a "good man"), on the other hand the same thing may make it more changeable - compare Fi Rationals to Fi Irrationals.
lol all his extended metaphors make his message so unnecessarily convoluted. I'm sure there are easier ways of explaining IEs than this.
I felt those descriptions vastly clarified things for me, tbh.
YOUR explanations confuse me further, Galen

I don't know how much truth is in those mental images of IEs, but I really like those explanations. You can imagine it much better and also tend to remember those things much easier. If someone wants to know about a certain IE and knows nothing about them, these examples are perfect.

Its relatively good in the way it walks you through the concept of "static fields" using an analogy to make it a lot more grounded.
but the laser beam analogy is a little silly, and it lacks complexity.
One thing I noticed was do Fi types make ethical connections with only people? how about communities, organizations, and things. can they form there little laser bonds with these things, and if not, then why not?
I personally have looked at Fi as being more general than just a grid of relationship between people, I look at it as a grid of relationships (in the ethical sense) between everything.
I'd like to criticise it, but in the realm of socionics it's ok...except to me it's a bit too Ni... it 'forgets' that everyone morphs between the two, and for an analogy to describe such a thing, it's better an Ne thing, otherwise you're stuck with yes/no answers.
Anything written by Expat is a good read for the newbies.
