    Default Jimi Hendrix

Between and seems like a good place to start.

    Interest in psychedelia
Most of his lyrical music is highly detailed with dynamic characters/setting.
    He had his own style.
He uses a sarcastic deep voice to make fun of people
He wrote songs about different people and their troubles.
In interviews he seems distant, and when playing he loses himself.

Lived the rockstar life, not sure to what degree though
He played towering, crushing riffs on some songs
He also had a lot of loner/loser songs, which makes me think SxE or IxI.
A few of his songs from Are You Experienced, are characteristic of Aggressor-Victim.

His music is highly emotional, but his behavior doesn't seem to be. In MBTI I thought *STP. But it really does seem to come down to ILI. I'm not sure either, it's just the IEIs I know aren't as shy as Jimi but still a little goofy-shy.

I was stuck between INFp and INTp when I was trying to type him a long time ago, but INTp won out on account of various intonations and cadence in his speech. Along with similar mannerisms/gesticulations to other egos I can recognize. He's not terribly emotive either.
He's not terribly emotive? Are you for real? What about the raw emotion coming from his guitar? No way is he intp. No way.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

    Obvious IEI is obvious?

I think I've realized since dating my new IEI that oftentimes, they CAN come across quite logical, steady, stable.. not really in the traditional overt sense, but then you get a bit closer and it's evident.

    ILI-Te so/sx

He reminds me in many ways of my ILI-Te dad. There are similarities in mannerisms, speech, and so on.

I just watched a video of him and he seemed self-effacing, serious but had a subtle sense of humor, secure in who he was, and similar in some physical way to my ex-wife, who is SLI.
He also had mad guitar skills. He reminds me of Jack Sonni of Dire Straits. “He doesn’t want to make the guitar cry or sing.” Both men used the guitar as human voices.
I would never have guessed this before watching him, but I think he was SLI.

If Jung based his theories on the people he met in his life, even if he met more people than the average person, that means that he based his theories on a certain type of person. The type of person who might go to him for therapy or talks, or who might believe the esoteric ideas he was spouting at the time. Thus it's possible that he did not categorize all humans into types, but just made subtypes for a specific type of person. This overarching type of person is the same type that is heavily interested in theories of this kind, and whom Alive says is an IEI.

Therefore, Alive is right. We are all IEIs with subtypes. With that, I'm off this forum
