Dual (LSI-Se).
What do these signs mean—, , etc.? Why cannot socionists use symbols Ne, Ni etc. as in MBTI? Just because they have somewhat different meaning. Socionics and MBTI, each in its own way, have slightly modified the original Jung's description of his 8 psychological types. For this reason, (Ne) is not exactly the same as Ne in MBTI.
Just one example: in MBTI, Se (extraverted sensing) is associated with life pleasures, excitement etc. By contrast, the socionic function (extraverted sensing) is first and foremost associated with control and expansion of personal space (which sometimes can manifest in excessive aagression, but often also manifests in a capability of managing lots of people and things).
For this reason, we consider comparison between MBTI types and socionic types by functions to be rather useless than useful.

My father is a LSI and my benefactor.
/
My dad is probably LSI, possibly LII. Either way, Ti-sub. So either my activator or I'm his benefactor.
Not a rule, just a trend.
IEI. Probably Fe subtype. Pretty sure I'm E4, sexual instinctual type, fairly confident that I'm a 3 wing now, so: IEI-Fe E4w3 sx/so. Considering 3w4 now, but pretty sure that 4 fits the best.
Yes 'a ma'am that's pretty music...
I am grateful for the mystery of the soul, because without it, there could be no contemplation, except of the mysteries of divinity, which are far more dangerous to get wrong.
Probably super-ego. Our fights are loud and accomplish nothing. When it comes to voicing his opinions, he demands respect but shows little in return, and I ignore him on principle.

Supervisor, more than likely.
For the longest time, I really admired him and wanted to be a lot like him. I read all the books that he loved. I wanted to be good at math like he was, and I did very well in it up until high school.
When I became a youth, things became a little rocky. I would get frustrated with a math assignment, and he would try to help me, but I would get more and more emotional and he would grow impatient, and yeah...it never ended well. I eventually gave up on math entirely.
We still enjoy a lot of the same books, and that is something that we will probably always have in common.
We actually have a good relationship, for the most part, but probably only because I've learned to tread a little lightly around him. I don't offer up my opinions easily with him, because he is extremely opinionated himself, and often manages to bowl over my opinion before I even get around to expressing it (for instance, I asked him once if he'd seen a particular movie, hoping to open up a brief dialog; but as soon as I asked, he replied, "No, I haven't; and it looks stupid." If he had been more kindly and open, I would have been able to say something like, "yeah, it was kinda dumb in some places, but there were some parts that I actually laughed at"; but his tone of voice just shut off the topic completely).
Anyway, I'd say more but I've gotta go.

I feel reasonably confident in saying that my dad is SLE, and if not SLE, certainly in the Beta quadra.

How could there be so many LSI fathers? I typed mine as such, but then I must start to reconsider, it might just be a father-bias. He's definitely an IJ type though.
Obsequium amicos, veritas odium parit
It could really be a bias. But I was surprised that two ILIs apparently have LSI fathers just like me. Do you think he's really your benefactor? I guess it could be correct in my case. I'm secretly pay much heed on the way he thinks of me. His opinion is quite important to me. (Of course, this could be a general things because he's my father.) He is not very much interested in the things I like or my hobbies, but he's definitely respecting me.

Me + ESFj dad = benefactards
Historically I haven't really liked him all that much, but for reasons I can't even remember properly. I guess he's very prone to being angry and controlling (sup average E8), and I found that a bit intimidating when I was a kid. Since I've gotten into college I've really started to love his presence, probably due to me/him/both of us becoming more emotionally stable and healthy. I never really understood how our relationship matches up to the typical "benefit" descriptions though, because aside from the the fact that he's in a position of superiority over me, our relationship doesn't feel particularly lop-sided. Subtypes or something?

I think there might be a bias towards typing one's parents as rationals, simply because most of them impose rules on their children and are generally associated with that "rigidity" aspect by them. This is pure speculation, though.
My dad is a textbook LII. We get along okay but he's really put off by my betalike criticisms and negativity and how I have a tendency to separate myself from other people. If I act more esfj ish it's funny how he automatically starts to like me better.
He's so smart. He loves doing crosswords, working on the computer and doing other LII-ish things. He's also an artist like me. =)

Supervisee(ILI) though there is a slight chance he might be LIE(look a like), I doubt it.
i've changed my opinion on my dad's type since i originally voted in this poll, my vote is now for Activator.
My activity relation.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE
