Still debating about whether or not I'm a delta but thought I'd chime in. What pulls me out of it is time with family or friends as much as I'll try to resist this at times. When I know someone is going to visit or I have a social engagement I'll often find myself dreading it at first like is an imposition but once the event gets started I'll find myself enjoying it. Last week I forced myself to get out and meet with my games group. Turns out I had a blast and alot of much needed laughter.

I have felt this emptiness, all my life, no matter the circumstances, bountiful or bleak. There is no answer. It is what we all are at our heart. I think accepting it helped, though.

Edit: Is it only delta?

No, I'm pretty sure the emptiness is universal.
For me at least, there are moments where it can become a fullness or a companion, or a part of the unity- much like what Wacey already said.
I wonder if the issue is not if only deltas experience their own particular brand of existential emptiness, but whether the way they deal w/ it is different from beta, for example. Or are those two things interrelated?
In regards to your guy's quires, I really don't know. I figured it was universal, the emptiness. When I first really realized it as a young man in all its truth, both incredible and frightening, I assumed that I would have to soldier on with this sort of "terrible secret", that I felt everyone knew, but spend their lives distracted from knowing. I have no answers though, and can't imagine finding any after almost a decade of searching. I try to pursue, mostly, that which makes me feel solid to fill the emptiness. What else is there?
I do want to add that I don't think this is existential as I understand that concept. It is more spiritual.
Did you guys watch the movie? It's quite good....
This emptiness is often referred to as the God-shaped hole in the heart that only God can fill. I know, I once tried to fill it with other things and every accomplishment or goal left me wondering why I still felt empty inside.
St. Augustine, (born 354 A.D., died 430 A.D.) tried everything before his conversion, living a life of intellect and worldly pleasure before finding God. His most famous book is his spiritual autobiography, called Confessions. The third sentence into his book says this:
“Lord, you have made us for Yourself, and our hearts are restless until they find rest in you.” (Confessions 1.1.1.)

Sold your soul to the delta.
hold up deltas feel empty inside just like I think they are? Its interesting to hear someone actually voice what I suspected.
No idea. I got lana del ray clones dragging along my ankles singing about video games. they are killing me. I suspect the solution is to leave typology and join the real world.

Yes, thank-you for your brilliant ideas everyone.
Nevermind, you have to many concepts in your head to even comprehend what I am talking about. Which comes as no surprise.

Don't mind the scoffers; your thoughts and feelings are legitimate.
I don't think I have a perfect answer. While I don't identify with much of what Eliza expresses elsewhere on this forum, I have found a similar spiritual sustaining/filling through how I relate to and interact with the God I follow. I also tend to agree with those who suggest a feeling of emptiness is pretty universal, though some might feel it more keenly than others.
Perhaps emptiness and hunger isn't a bad thing, though it's certainly uncomfortable. I know for myself, when I pay attention to it, it can motivate me forward to discover new things and grow in new ways. It can stir me out of stagnation.
Oh, to find you in dreams - mixing prior, analog, and never-beens... facts slip and turn and change with little lucidity. except the strong, permeating reality of emotion.
Everyone stop name calling about deltas having no soul.
This typology is very serious.
I drink.
People often believe they need to follow some exerting and difficult path to feel contented...that the journey itself is all part of that, but from all I know it is perfectly simple to feel content without going out of your way. I would say that those who feel an "emptiness" are not actually deficient, they merely need supplementing and a change of focus. That Jung fellow also had an insight on this topic where he reckoned that people who lived for tomorrow, with a goal or an ambition in mind lived longer. Living longer may or may not be desirable, but if you find some castle to build like Jung did, you may find it beneficial.
I'm fine, chopped wood like a beaver today. Besides, I don't even think about that silly stuff. As for Jung and goal in mind, I'm going to think about it, when I am about to invade America under the sign of swastika.
I learned that this is true; if you live for today and be content with what's happening now, instead of looking into the past, you can be much happier.
And I also agree that people who feel emptiness just need a change. Sometimes they try to go for that change in a bad way like, like drinking or overindulging, but what their soul truly desires is to be getting to higher places. That is why there are people with really strong personalities who do extreme things to get a high.
omg this thread title just annoys me every time i see it...
Delta does not have emptiness inside!

Shiny shiny.
clearly delta simply views the emptiness as unproblematic.
The easiest way is through changing one's perceptions or focus. And when the emptiness starts to catch up again...just change the perceptions/focus again...and again...and again.
But that probably isn't delta so much as iee, ne, e7, and/or other related.

Feeling empty/nothing is great in comparison to feeling pain or gnawing unsadisfaction of lack of something fairly particular. So my guess is you are all using the word as an euphemism, and the question is "How do I distract myself and sooth the dissatisfaction?".
Oh.. fuck you, I guess.
Hmm, i might be doing that. But there's also the known experience of cyclical depression. Not depression as in i am sad or grieving, but the depression of....nothingness. Where putting one foot in front of the other may not even come to mind, or be too much effort for nada. At these times it's the memories of having experienced it before and coming out of it before and the times of laughter and spiritual fullness (not religious), that keeps me putting one foot in front of the other, fairly sure that this was just another of those phases. But then, I think this is what I 'run' from by changing my perceptions/focus. It gives a little jolt of interest to keep that nothingness at bay.
Now, add in the dissatisfaction on top of that!

What wiser people experience
Emptiness is kind of on and off for me. I have a good life and all, but I have gone through phases feeling a certain incompleteness.
Getting time to myself to think about things and process things, and also spending time with people who are important to me. It's not something that I am constantly aware of but then, things come up to remind me of it, and that I am putting a positive face on, and being desensitized. Getting immersed in fictional worlds, through books, movies, and TV shows, connecting to the situation. And how the worlds are so unlike our own world, as a form of escapism.
Listening to and finding music that fits situations that I'm in helps. For me personally, doing artwork is certainly a coping mechanism, for getting ideas out, and when I am going through a tough time.
