I dreamed that I went to sleep in a six-story hotel in some (Mid?) western city and when I woke up and looked down on the street, flood waters had filled the town overnight to above the heights of the cars.
My first thought was, “That’s gonna be hard on my rental car.” My next thought was, “I wonder if anyone died in the rapidly rising water?” My third thought was, “Looks like I’m stuck here for a while.”
I think this is an analogy to COVID-19.

It is a mirror, however, with the peculiar capacity of representing the present contents of consciousness not in their known and customary form but in a certain sense sub specie aeternitatis, somewhat as a million-year old consciousness might see them.
