It's a country song by Mary Chapin Carpenter "The Bug".
I tend to get this song stuck in my head when things just aren't working out, when all hell breaks loose.
In this week's case, it's cuz of some flying bugs that showed up in our house and we can't find where they keep coming from. (I think it's from the heater vents which means something underneath the house. No matter how many we kill, when the heater turns on and the air blows out the vents, we've got more bugs. The Bastards!!)
lyrcs:
Well it's a strange old game you learn it slow
One step forward and it's back you go
You're standing on the throttle
You're standing on the brake
In the groove 'til you make a mistake
Sometimes you're the windshield
Sometimes you're the bug
Sometimes it all comes together baby
Sometimes you're just a fool in love
Sometimes you're the Louisville Slugger
Sometimes you're the ball
Sometimes it all comes together
Sometimes you're gonna lose it all
You gotta know happy - you gotta know glad
Because you're gonna know lonely
And you're gonna know sad
When you're rippin' and you're ridin'
And you're coming on strong
You start slippin' and slidin'
And it all goes wrong because
Sometimes you're the windshield
Sometimes you're the bug
Sometimes it all comes together baby
Sometimes you're just a fool in love
Sometimes you're the Louisville Slugger
Sometimes you're the ball
Sometimes it all comes together
Sometimes you're gonna lose it all
One day you got the glory and then you got none
One day you're a diamond and then you're a stone
Everything can change in the blink of an eye
So let the good times roll before we say goodbye because
Sometimes you're the windshield
Sometimes you're the bug
Sometimes it all comes together baby
Sometimes you're just a fool in love
Sometimes you're the Louisville Slugger
Sometimes you're the ball
Sometimes it all comes together
Sometimes you're gonna lose it all
Sometimes you're the windshield
Sometimes you're the bug
Sometimes it all comes together baby
Sometimes you're just a fool in love
Sometimes you're the windshield
Sometimes you're the bug
Sometimes it all comes together baby
Sometimes you're just a fool in love
Heh, sounds like the problem's really bugging you, ann.

I'd smoke his blunt~
I wonder if all these songs are really in people's heads, or they just want to show off .
Where's your faith in humankind?
I honestly and truthfully play this game, and present this song which has come to mind several times the last few days. Well, maybe not the whole song, but the refrain at least.
Martina McBride and Dean Martin - Baby, It's Cold Outside
Because, yes, it's cold outside.
Oh, to find you in dreams - mixing prior, analog, and never-beens... facts slip and turn and change with little lucidity. except the strong, permeating reality of emotion.
These are a cross between "show-off-yness" and what I've really been thinking about. I like my Christmas music (and this version of this first song is a favorite), but since not everyone here likes Christmas music I'll avoid deluging the thread with it. I listened to both tonight as I got gold glitter on my face and neck and hands and flocking in my hair.
David Reynolds - Carol of the Bells
Oh, to find you in dreams - mixing prior, analog, and never-beens... facts slip and turn and change with little lucidity. except the strong, permeating reality of emotion.
This one can get me teary in the right moments.
Mannheim Steamroller - Stille Nacht
Oh, to find you in dreams - mixing prior, analog, and never-beens... facts slip and turn and change with little lucidity. except the strong, permeating reality of emotion.
I keep thinking about this song because I keep bumping the everythingisterrible thread
It's easy for this song to get stuck in my head, which is fine by me

She was probably implying poetically that she was making some kind of Christmas ornament.
I just use this thread to increase my post count~
Me, neither. At least, in this case.
Christmas tree decorating, actually. Some of the ornaments had this sort of tiny gold glitter that tended to get on whoever was near. If being sparkly was a requirement for being elves, my dog and I would have made the cut.
Semi-random note: My dog is at that perfect age where he's still healthy and agile but he's old enough to be calm and smart and sweet.
Well, hm... perhaps "game" wasn't the best word for me to use, since there's no winning or losing. "Exercise" perhaps? No, that sounds too much like work...
Sorry.
